Cadell House Apt - Royal Mile

Location and history.

I didn’t like that I had to pay a £100 deposit against potential damages. This was refunded a few days after we checked out. I didn’t see this on the website - so double check if you’re concerned.

location was good.

property was utilitarian. Nothing comfortable about the experience. No pictures, mirrors, christmas decorations. Not enough wine glasses, matching plates, general glasses for four people. Felt like student accommodation.

The location was absolutely incredible, you stepped out of the property and you were practically on the Royal Mile. The price was perfect, especially over New Years and our hosts were great, very communicative and always available to answer any questions! Would 100% recommend

The location is excellent at the foot of the Royal Mile so right in the centre of town.

The water had difficulty draining in the shower because plug hole was blocked and the interior of the shower could do with a good clean - all the little ledges on the frame were grimey. Apartment very sparse so not terribly homely or comfortable, some soft furnishings would make it feel more appealing. Misleading pictures make the apartment look bigger than it is and that there is a beautiful garden at the property - there is to one side but no access for tenants just access to a drying green covered in weeds. Outside light not working so difficult to view/access the keysafe in the dark.

Amazing location, approx 25 mins walk to the castle. Under 2 mins to the Hop on hop off bus stop at Canongate Kirk. Clean, simple and lovely and warm. Great views of Robert Burns monument from the kitchen! Felt safe for 2 female travellers, owners were so helpful as we were delayed on arrival and this was no problem at all.

Nothing it’s great!

Location excellent. Beds comfortable. Heating excellent Excellent dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and microwave Owner very quick at answering queries. Sofas comfortable enough. Shower good. Bathroom excellent. Towels provided good quality.

Not enough pans. Not enough microwaveable cooking bowls. Not enough mugs and wine glasses. Keypad on apartment door temperamental. Corridor to apartment dark. Few more homely touches needed eg pictures. Needs a large mirror near a plug for straighteners etc.

Lovely little apartment, very nicely located ideal for everything, has everything you need for a easy place to chill out after exploring all day.
