I always give a business an opportunity to respond privately before posting a negative review. I have not heard a word from the hotel since I contacted them on May 25 with this issue. My husband and I stayed at the Granville Island Hotel for 3 nights from May 21 to 24. The first two nights were fine. On the third night, a Saturday night, the hotel hosted a wedding. We returned from the event at 10:45 and the loud thumping music was audible from the parking lot. The music was very loud in our room although the room was not near the restaurant. The noise came in from the hallway, the windows and the registers. My husband called the desk to ask when it would stop and the desk clerk replied at midnight. She said she would "see what she could do" which was, nothing. We were awake and forced to endure the loud rap music until midnight. If a guest was playing thumping loud rap music from their room, the hotel would, no doubt, put a stop to that. When it's the hotel itself disturbing the guests, apparently the comfort and respect for guests is absent. Generally, hotels that host weddings have proper sound isolation for the event rooms. This hotel does not. We could not recommend a hotel that allows guests to be disturbed in such a manner. I note as well that I have received no communication whatsoever from the hotel when I reached our regarding this situation.

Very quiet location yet in the heart of the island. Very comfortable beds and great housekeeping standards.Great outside decks for warm evenings and people watching.

Service at breakfast was hit and miss as was the quality.Dinner prices were quite high given the fairly conventional menu choices.
