Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Birch Run-Frankenmuth, MI

Room was gross. Smelled musty. Mattress was stained. Carpets were so dirty they were brown. I understand being “outdated”….but this was more than that. We ended up with a hot tub in our room that was in disrepair (we didn’t know it came with one)…..The pictures speak for themselves.

I should have read the reviews before booking here. When we checked in, the front desk person was yelling at someone on the phone, then yelled at us when we were waiting at the desk for her to finish her tirade. What a warm welcome. The hotel is under construction in one part, but the whole thing should be. It is old, dingy, and smelly. It felt like you would never want to touch something with your bare skin in that place. The breakfast was out of almost all food in the morning. I wouldn’t say it was a nightmare stay, but I for sure would not return either

Pool out of order, did not know until after reserved. Loud. Looked like door had been kicked in.

Hotel is under construction. Pool was closed. Rooms smelled musky. Staff was good and understand why we left.

Property is undergoing renovations at time of our visit so pool and hot tub were not available but we were advised of this before we arrived which I appreciated. We had booked an accessible room as my husband had poor mobility. Due to renovations we were not able to have an accessible room with roll in shower but the manager did give us a shower stool which was okay. Staff were pleasant and helpful and we enjoyed our stay. However I’m not clear how a wheelchair user staying on 3rd floor could be safely evacuated from the property in an emergency especially if lifts are out of action.

No phone or clock in room. Not a single outlet available to charge electrical devices. Unheard of in today’s world of tablets and cell phones. Did not feel safe. A very tired property.

I don’t even know where to start. First, the staff waited until the evening before our stay to call and let us know the pool and hot tub weren’t open. They claimed it’s listed everywhere that it’s closed - including Expedia - but I went and looked and it says nothing about it. Then we arrived and the entire hotel was filthy. Floors, walls, even the elevator floor. Just gross. Beds and pillows were horrible, every door slams and the bathroom door had to be slammed just to get it to close. Black mildew/mold in shower, the blow dryer didn’t work, nor did a few of the outlets. Just do yourself a favor and stay ANYWHERE ELSE.

I love Country Inn & Suites. We stay at them when we travel. But this one needs a major refresh. The panel was falling off the wall. The carpets were visibly dirty. The duvet cover had stains. The tub did not drain very well. There was no hair dryer in the room. The cabnet doors for the t.v. stand would not stay closed. We usually have great luck with this hotel chain and always stay at them. So it was a bit disappointing with this one.

They contacted us the night before to tell us the pool wouldn't be available! seriously the night before? A 90°+ weekend. The room was filthy, found items & dirt on the floor that should of been swept. Had what looks like blood on the top bedding. It was just horrible. I will not stay again there
