Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Birch Run-Frankenmuth, MI

Our stay was very well enjoyed! Lovely staff & facilities. Although the pool was under construction, there was minimal noise and the hotel was still able to offer necessities to support our stay.

At check-in, the long line clearly rattled the front desk attendant. She was rude & talked continually about lack of staff. She then gave us keys to rooms (I reserved two) that were already occupied, then told us the computer had glitched. Once in our room, we immediately realized it had not been cleaned since the last occupants. Trash cans were full, there was hair on the toilet, sink & bathtub. The couch pull-out linens had not been changed & there were multiple items found under it. Sadly, the second room was the same. When I approached the front desk, she gave me an all-purpose cleaner & cloth with the comment "Our head housekeeper will come get those when you are done." Said housekeeper overheard & went upstairs with me. She questioned where I saw hair & when shown replied with "Oh". She only wiped off the top of the toilet, and one obvious spot of dirt in the tub. She spent the entire time complaining about lack of staff & the new girl who works 2 jobs & can't clean thirteen rooms in one shift. So, I had to clean a room I was already paying too much for. As did our friends in the other room. (Physical disabilities of my friend prevent going somewhere else) At check-in I asked about the black plastic on the windows of the pool room & was told "They are painting". No mention of the pool being under construction. Our children were very upset. The only positives of this stay were the cleanliness of the breakfast area, & the kindness of the evening front desk gentleman.

Just not that great for the ridiculous price we paid. Room felt like it was spot cleaned between guests. Just felt dirty. Front desk gal was grumpy and cold. Halls were blah, smell was stale. Pool under construction which we were unaware of Would not stay here again. Too many people who appear to be living there.

We checked in around 6 pm 7/14/2025. One hour later staff was pounding on our door saying we. Needed to get out because someone just checked out of our room? Me and my husband were confused and went to the front desk and staff apologized. Then, We wanted to go swimming but the pool was drained and under construction and we were told that before our reservation.that’s the whole reason that we decided to stay here in the first place.Lastly we were woken up at 7am by people doing construction on the floor above our room. Definitely an annoying stay!!!

I am writing to formally report an extremely disappointing and distressing experience I had during my stay at your Country Inn & Suites location in Birch Run, Michigan, from June 27 to June 30, 2025, in Room 106. After returning from an outing on June 28, I found the bathroom in our room overflowing with sewage. I reported this immediately to the front desk and spoke with Rick, who handed me a plunger—which, as a guest, I found entirely inappropriate. The plunger did not resolve the issue. Rick attempted to fix the issue himself with a snake tool, and after multiple failed attempts, he told me the maintenance worker wouldn’t be available until morning. What was most frustrating is that no one offered us an alternate room, even after it was clear the bathroom was unusable and hazardous. My party and I were expected to spend the night in a room with sewage and use a public restroom down the hall. Housekeeping (Marlissa) only offered towels to place on the floor. Even after the blockage was cleared the next day, the bathroom floor was left uncleaned and contaminated until Tina at the front desk—who deserves credit for her genuine concern—came herself with gloves and cleaning supplies to address the mess. The situation worsened when Nick told us not to flush toilet paper and to dispose of it in the trash—which was never emptied. Adding to our dismay, the door to Room 106 was coming off its hinges and the lock was unreliable, posing a clear safety concern. When I spoke with Tom, he offered to comp one night, but given the conditions we endured—including health risks, discomfort, and emotional distress—this gesture is insufficient. An explanation as to why: Guests were not immediately moved to another room during an active sewage emergency. A room with clear maintenance and safety issues was made available at all. A guest was left to handle plumbing tools without professional support. we left upset, concerned, and appalled.

The hotel is under renovation, after making the reservation the manager called the next day and informed me of the renovation and said the pool and hot tub was closed, this was fine with us. The room was ok except that they gave us a room with a jetted tub that was damaged and had duct tape in it. Also the curtains were ripped and the black out curtains were damaged also. On the plus side the breakfast was really nice wanted more coffee but the pot was empty and the person taking care of it was down the hall talking with the person on the front desk.

Location was great. Near freeways, shopping and dining.

Got a call before booking day that the pool was being renovated, was a Friday and last mintute couldn’t change,Front desk representative was clearly on drugs and rude, first room I was assigned the toilet wasn’t even bolted down, wanted to upgrade but nun of the jacuzzis worked? lol so I got a discount from the manager via third party booking… they are rerenovating the whole thing hopefully get it updated I could only watch 5 channels..

We walked into our room and it smelled horrible! Musty, dirty, and moldy smell! Once we overcame the smell, we saw torn curtains, duct tape covering multiple spots on the bottom of the jacuzzi tub and the shower, along with stained carpeting and mattress! We did not stay there, we left!
