Residence Inn Houston Sugar Land/Stafford

Flash back to 1996, you're 10 years old, taking a trip across the country with your parents. (4 hours away) They decide to spend a little extra for a night at the Residence, the pool is huge, your parents are in their own room, and it even has a fridge. Life is good. Fast forward to this weekend.... We easily find a place to park behind the Harley dealership, my bride and children stay in the vehicle so I can check us in after making reservations online. There is a police officer in the parking lot taking a report from someone, sounded like a theft issue from what I could hear. Get inside and there is a solo employee on the phone, looks up, but does not acknowledge me as a customer. She was dealing with a government employee looking for a discount. She leaves for a minute to go and fetch the manager from her smoke break, and I quickly realize why the lobby smells like a casino. Now they are both on the phone, still not acknowledging that I exist in front of them. Finally get some room keys, pull out the beat up mattress for the kiddos and check out the rest. Mold on the windowsills, some weird deformity in the middle of the main mirror, and a bathroom door that clears the toilet by a couple inches. I am about 6ft tall and was eye level with the shower head and bumped my arms on the ceiling when trying to use the RV sized shower. Pool is tiny, trash cans were full. We regret not staying somewhere else, but there aren't many options with bedrooms.

Stay was great. All the personal was very nice. Only problem I had was with the smell. The hall smelled like urine.

The room was not at all dusted properly. With having severe dust allergies, couldn't sleep the whole night. Food was just ok.

Excellent location. Clean appointed rooms, very friendly helpful staff! Would highly recommend for business or pleasure travel. Close to food, shopping and several business. Only complaint I have is the shower head in my room was awful. Couldn’t adjust where it was aimed and water pressure felt low. Other than that don’t overlook this place. Well worth the stay.

Overall, I had a good 8-day stay. The room was to be cleaned after 7 days due to Covid restrictions. However, my request to have it cleaned after the 6th-day was granted. The rooms, kitchen, and bathrooms were clean. The toilet bowl rim was black and that put me off. I would still stay here again.

Great quiet place

I had a great time there, the customer service was excellent and the room was clean and the bedrooms were very nice and the room was spacious enough to entertain guest . I will definitely be back.
