Robbins Motel

The pictures about this motel is mostly inaccurate. It shows a living room, a kitchen… but it is not true. Nothing but a queen bed and a tiny bathroom.

It was fine.

Heater didn't work, uneven floor, rotted door, slider door to bathroom didn't shut, shoebox size room and bathroom. Plugged bathroom sink. Location was good and affordable.

This hotel would have been greatly outdated in the 1970's - The tile is falling off the floor in the bathroom, sink was hanging off of the wall, you practically need a ladder to get into the bathtub in what was supposed to be an accessible room, and their idea of art was old gift shop photo style placemats attached to the walls, and walls are paper thin so you hear everything. The office was closed most of the time, and no coffee made 1 of the two mornings we were there. There was a large skunk hanging out just outside of our room door for much of our stay, which made coming and going difficult. This was probably the most overpriced motel I have ever stayed in out of the many hundreds of places I have visited. The area it is located in is pretty convenient though to both sides of Acadia NP and to Bar Harbor, and much cheaper, than most other motels that close, but over all frankly I would never stay here again.

The staff was welcoming and the room was clean. Yet the room was also dingy, the floor sloped noticeably and the owner should really reinvest some of the takings to spruce up the rooms.

Well….it’s the price you get

The place was a dive. It was old, run down and dirty.

have stayed multiple times, affordable, convenient, nice folks. it's a cheap motel, but its a nice, cheap motel that feels safe.

It was about $200 cheaper than most hotels on the island for that I was thankful but it was no pleasurable experience. We put towels all over the floor, fortunately brought our own sheets that we used in the hostel in Europe. It just was a very bates motel, experience. The pillows were trash. The shower was trash. The spiderwebs at the base of the bed had us on edge. But we made it through Bar Harbor was beautiful so we stayed out till midnight each night so that we didn’t have to go back to the motel.
