Hampton Inn White River Junction

Clean. Nice New England art and photography on the walls. Comfy beds. Good breakfast. TV welcomed me by name when entered lol. Clean hallway carpets. Easy contactless checkin with app. Brightly lit parking lot. Snow and ice cleared carefully from walks outside. This is a well-managed hotel.

Coffee machine in room was missing a part, couldn’t use. Floor in room not vacuumed well, although pretty clean.

The property was not properly plowed or salted when I stepped out of my vehicle. I fell and hurt my elbow.

I booked this hotel for 2 nights and received a confirmation email from Hilton. When I came to the hotel to check in the front desk person, who introduced himself as the manager on duty with a smile on his face, told me that he couldn’t find my reservation. Even after I showed him a confirmation email, he still claimed that he couldn’t find it. I asked to book a different room, but he said that the hotel was fully booked however when I checked on the Hilton website it said that there was one room available. He told me to look for another hotel wherever I wanted. It was 7:30 pm and freezing weather. Right after I left the hotel, I received an email which stated that my reservation was canceled late and I may get charged. My credit card was charged for one night. I called Hilton, waited on the phone for a long time, until someone picked up. Their representative told me to deal with the hotel myself. Only after I insisted to open a case, he did it and promised that I would get a response from Hampton Inn within 48 hours, but the email he sent stated 72 hours. Finally I got a refund, but no apology or compensation for booking a different, more expensive, hotel.

Finding TV station of choice was a problem; i.e., not a user friendly TV channel format

Very nice breakfast included and it was a very clean, modern hotel that was First Class !!!

Location was convenient with shopping and eating options nearby.

Check in staff could have been better. No greeting, didn’t tell me our room number, how to get there, how to access wifi, or what time breakfast was available until I asked. Just handed me our room keys and went on about his day. Fist time we experienced this and we travel quite a bit.
