Breakfast was excellent on both mornings.

We weren’t aware the bar area wouldn’t be available for coffee etc after we checked out at 1030. This meant we could have been in limbo before our pickup arrived at 1140. However, it was resolved as there was a free table for four near to the entrance where we were allowed to sit until being met.

Very welcoming. Excellent staff and ideal location. Breakfasts were delicious.

There wasn't dedicated parking. The billing was a bit of a faff and took quite a bit of communication to resolve

The staff are fairly pleasant, although nobody from the hotel side was around in the morning to speak to about the issues we’d had. The meals we had in the restaurant were quite good too, although the burgers were very salty.

The bed felt like a small double, and the bathroom was not clean - mould in the shower grout, paint peeling on the walls, and a distinct unpleasant smell. The room was also too hot for us, even after turning the radiators off and opening the windows. Some other guests who either didn’t listen to the check-in instructions, or hadn’t been given the check-in instructions about the alarm system, attempted to use the front door at 1AM and set off the intruder alarm. This lasting for long enough that we both got up and dressed, thinking it was the fire alarm. It was incredibly loud and stress-inducing, and after that we had a fitful night’s sleep, only to be woken again in the early morning by the ludicrously loud plumbing system in the building - a sort of rhythmic thudding that vibrates through the room. This was not a boutique stay - not even a good stay - and we will not be returning.
