The New Mill Apartments

Not far from the centre of Newcastle. A great base for sightseeing. A large property which might not be in the best area but inside well appointed with fresh decor, new comfy beds and bedding and new furniture and appliances. Great value for money catering for large groups

Don’t bother staying here if you want somewhere to actually stay. We booked the apartment through booking.com several months ago and everything was paid for prior to arrival, we turned up to the new mill for my 23rd birthday celebrations (a group of 13 of us) and no one bothered to show up to let us into the apartment. Rang the number of the owner several times, no response. Rang the bell of the door several times, no response. Ended up having to leave and luckily we only live about 20/25 mins away but overall my birthday celebrations were totally ruined. So if you’re travelling to Newcastle don’t bother booking here as they will totally leave you with no where to stay. Also when we checked air B&B later on that day, the property was listed for that night for over double the price we paid so think something dodgy is going on here.

Travelled 2 hours here for 30th birthday celebrations with a group of 10 friends. Location awful, very rough and didnt feel safe leaving car nearby (in an Asda care park). The hosts were terrible, rude and unorganised . We were directed to a messy office for check in, papers strewn all over desk, and they were rummaging through papers to find details of booking. Then asked for a couple hundred pound damage deposit. We gave booking name and number, all OK. We were directed across the road to what appeared to be a random building, not part of the apartments directly above the office. I even asked the host if where we were staying even was the new mills apartments. We were 'checked in' given keys to the property and unpacked. Just as we were about to leave for pre-booked plans, the owner called us to say that he had no record of our booking (despite us having received confirmation from booking agent and proof of payment and showing this to the host and being initially allowed to check in no questions) we were not allowed to stay. They demanded duplicate payment (enquiries with the booking agent confirmed that payment had been sent to the accomodation a month earlier when the booking was made) and didnt offer us alternative room (despite rooms being available) unless full payment was made again (nearly £700!) Rather than allowing us time to seek to resolve with booking.com, they demanded we leave and threatened to call the police if we didnt. Consequently we missed pre-book birthday plans waiting for owner to return to give confirmation that we were refused check in to enable us to seek a refund from booking agent. We then had to spend nearly an hour trying to source alternative accommodation and incurring further expense all due to the accomodation essentially double booking. The property was not as nice as it looked on the photographs, it has been cheaply renovated. The kitchen in the apartment we were allowed in looked dated and nothing like the one in the photograph. The hosts completely ruined the weekend away. We have tried to contact them since regarding this and they have failed to respond. Would absolutely not recommend and will certainly not be returning. Terrible property, poor value for money and rude, unaccomodating hosts. You can get much cheaper, nicer accomodation in the city centre.

Excellent introduction and great apt. Would recommend without hesitation.

The apartment is a 4* I have stayed in a better 1* than this there was no complimentary tea or coffee the heating was switched off it was cold dirty mouldy I could write my name on the windows they where so dirty there is no parking on no premises as advertised as The apartment is on top of a takeaway that smells awful . There are no wardrobes u have a couple of hangers to hang your clothes up behind your bedroom door .. the bathroom is mouldy and stains on the bath and in the toilet .. the blinds in the front room are cello taped up as they all broken the sofas are ripped there are plastic bins with plastic shopping bags in .. dirty marks all over the walls absolutely disgusting £220 for one night ! Avoid at all costs the owner is rude and arrogant if u complin he accuses you of being racist .. marks all over the walls wires every where a 19” inch tv in a huge cold room .. awful ! please see the attatched photos

Booked a four day break staying @the apartment with my 3 friends from Scotland.When we arrived we were made very welcome by the managers. The apartment was very nice ,clean and warm with all facilities needed for the apartment.We had a very enjoyable stay and we will definitely be back.Would recommend this place for a group booking. .

four scots girls , booked number 2 apertment two twin rooms everything wasj ust perfect and manegment was very helpful couldn't fault them in the least also shop next door manager with the lovely dresses in the window ran us to the train on leaving, overall a great holiday.

We were a party of 6 with 2 apartments and where do I start terrible customer service, broken heating, broken oven, no hot water WiFi DOESNT work! Freezing, Very rough unsafe area, 'free parking' more like Asda car park very over priced considering it's a hostel😂 on the plus side Asda's round the corner and beds have lovely pillows!😂

We felt the apartment was good value for money for 4 adults and a baby. The owner was friendly and helpful. They were as described with all the facilities as described with a modern kitchen and bedrooms. Our one night stay was very comfortable without any problems.

Stayed here in October for a night away. Arrived here and was expecting the worst possible place as parked car in an unsafe side road as they dont have own parking, as soon as we opened car doors there was a fight going on in roads, got into office to check in and get the keys when a man came in demanding money, I honestly thought i was going to be robbed. One bad thing i have never had to do however was pay a £10.00 cleaning fee! U do at this place. Unsure why as that should be included in the price. Its almost like there saying if you wont pay it then they wont clean it! Never got this but at risk of argument i payed it but think this should be added into what you pay! Once i got keys i got shown around the apartment. This was very clean and tidy, Comfy beds and sheets. Downfall was noise from traffic and shouting on streets was horrendous, got a hours sleep. and the sofas were completely ripped at the back, these either need stitching or replacing as looks horrible. Apartments surrounded by Halal kebab shops in a dirty area. Overall clean apartments but we paid £229.00 for one night and definately isnt worth the price we had paid. I wouldnt stay again, I feared for my safety we would get mugged!
