"Hidden gem of 1900s"

7.0

This is a hidden gem from the 1900s! They have upgraded things to make guests comfortable but also have taken care of older more antique stuff so you are able to look around and enjoy stuff from the past! And my favorite was the antique charm and all the old portraits of famous people that have stayed throughout time!

2 main things I didn't like but they didn't ruin my stay. #1 The elevator: I like Nostalgia but the elevator at least needs to be upgraded on the inside and be 100% safe and from what I saw there they could definitely do the style but its just not been done. #2 The food areas : Any restaurant or even cafe are all closed till further notice. Only thing there would be a chip/snack small rack. (Only cash) and a drink vending machine also only cash. So that wasn't fun cause everyone is mainly card these days and I like late night snacks but its not a big problem.

"Beautiful old hotel very well kept. Big room, very comfortable."

8.0

The room was beautiful! The first floor was nicely preserved/restored.

It was difficult to access initially. From the front entry there are many stairs without alternatives. The front desk person was not always there. The restaurant advertised was closed.

"Classic Old world atmosphere"

9.0

Fascinating historical hotel Old world atmosphere Friendly informative staff I love the mural over the fireplace

A little worn but understandable for its age. It's very sad that it hasn't recovered its pre COVID level of services like the very pretty looking restaurant.

"Good for one night if just to say you stayed there and soaked up some of the Innโ€™s history."

7.0

Close to Old Town Eureka. Restaurants plentiful. Historical significance of the Inn was fascinating. Loved reading the displays and seeing the pictures of those who stayed there.

Eureka Inn is a Grand Old Lady, but she is showing her age. She is in desperate need of renovation. Morning buffet was basic and could be improved. For the price paid, hot food should be available. Some hallways were very dark.

"I would give it 3 1/2 out of five stars."

8.0

I liked that it was very clean and the historic element of the place. It was pretty and I liked the pictures of the famous people that stayed there once upon a time. I absolutely loved the fireplace in the main lobby. It was just beautiful. The complementary water in the lobby with the lemons in it was a nice touch. For us, the location was good. Weโ€™d like to be near the old part of the town. We walked there walked to a nice ice cream shop. There was parking included, which was nice. It wasnโ€™t on site, but it was right across the street just like if it was on site.

I didnโ€™t like that the toilet seat didnโ€™t sit steady on the toilet . It would wiggle around. I thought the place should open up the cafรฉ that they have closed ever since Covid. It is a beautiful space and I thought it would be a beautiful breakfast area and a nice place for the guests to go have breakfast, but itโ€™s locked up. I feel like the place needs to have a nice restaurant in that cafรฉ and also if they would open up their ballroom to rent out as a venue for some weddings and things. It seems like if they donโ€™t do something, the place is going to go under and itโ€™s sad because it is a historical site. One of the girls (she was younger) that worked at the front desk was not very friendly. She was kind of Curt and not very helpful. I think some people would think the breakfast was not good and limited, but it was better than a continental breakfast. There was not a hot entrรฉe, but there were breakfast sandwiches you could microwave if you want . Some hot cereal, bananas, yogurt, and cold cereal. So it was sufficient oh also hard boiled eggs. Coffee and tea and juice.

"It was a great experience to remember Eureka."

8.0

A historic building with the ambience and decor of olden times. Quaint.

Parking was a bit inconvenient as my husband has a bout of mobility issue. Getting the bags in was quite a distance.

The character of the building and the decor was exceptional, staff awesome, they had live music one night which we found very entertaining. If the walls could've talked we would've stayed even longer. A definite 2 thumbs up! We wish we could find more like this..

The fact that we may never find another. Eureka Inn spoiled us!
