"New Year’s Eve Celebration"

10.0

Staying at the Chatham Bars Inn for New Year’s Eve was delightful. My friends and I wanted to attend the First Night activities in the town of Chatham. The hotel, which is charming and has sweeping views of the ocean, provided free transportation to and from the hotel to the town activities. Our room was beautifully appointed. For example, Frette towels hung in the bathroom and luxurious sheets were on the bed. The staff was friendly and professional.

"The Best Place to Stay on the Cape"

10.0

My family and I enjoyed a wonderful time at the magical Chatham Bars Inn between Christmas and New Year's and everything: From arrival to departure, from the common areas to our rooms, from our breakfasts to our lunches to our cocktails to our dinners: Perfection! Forgive me for gushing, but this is a very special place to stay with impeccable service, delicious food, good value, and above all, that gorgeous view. We've been going every year since 2014 at this time of year and I'm already planning for next year!

"A wonderful winter getaway (summer's not too shabby either!)"

10.0

We thought we'd stay at Chatham Bars Inn (Cape Cod) over Christmas this year, tho we'd stayed there years ago during summers before purchasing a property on Cape Cod. We can recommend this resort highly, with the caveat that it's pricey - but worth it for those who can afford the cost. Our Christmas stay was cozy and a good choice as to location. Daytime we sat reading by an "open fire" in their oversized lounge, with a beautifully decorated Christmas tree to one side. In fact the main building was decorated throughout, with many photo ops, including their sizable wooden models of historic 19th century ships encased in large, standing glass displays. One guest was a concert level pianist who studied at Julliard and had toured internationally. Periodically during the afternoon of Christmas eve he entertained us at the lounge piano with Chopin - his specialty. Christmas dinner, which should be booked in advance, is literally a feast. A prix fixe meal with turkey, ham, and steak carving boards, many chafing dishes, an incredible raw bar which could supply a meal in itself (caviar, lobster along with the usual shrimp, oysters, clams and more), along with a huge variety of breads - and tables piled on with multiple and varied Christmas desserts - will satisfy the most voracious appetite. The view from the long veranda at dawn was spectacular during our stay - we really lucked out. Among the photos below is one which Homer must have had in mind when he wrote of the "rosy-fingered dawn". It was taken shortly before 7am on Christmas day. So don't rule out a winter visit to Chatham Bars, and definitely consider time for the summer, too. The beach is wonderful, and especially consider taking the service boat out to the sand bar. We loved the experience, especially sinking our overtaxed feet deep into squishy sand. You can bring over beach chairs and read, or just stare ahead into the Atlantic Ocean. One piece of advice, though, from a local. If you're a beach person, the safest time to book a Cape Cod vacation is early July to mid-August. June can be overly cool and not beach-friendly, and it usually starts to get cooler a couple of weeks into August. On the other hand, that's the peak tourist season, and things get crowded if you plan to tour the wider Cape. So be aware that fall is also a lovely time to visit the Cape. The crowds are gone, and if it's peace you seek you could do a lot worse than visit in September or October.

"The perfect New England resort."

10.0

This resort was absolutely perfect. My wife, son and I spent a night in one of the cabins this December. We could not have been happier with our experience. We were greeted at the door by Michael, who was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, and he set the tone for our amazing stay. The staff was extremely friendly, the facility immaculate, and the buildings themselves were impeccable and in incredible condition. Our meal at Sacred Cod was delicious. Start with the lobster nachos! We are so grateful to the team at Chatham Bars Inn, and we cannot wait to return! It sets the standard for New England resort.

"A Special Place"

10.0

We spent our Thanksgiving Weekend at the Chatham Bars Inn and just saw now that our review had not been sent. My husband and I have stayed at the Inn several times in all seasons and enjoyed both the main inn and the cottages. Each time we return we both agree that it only gets better and better From the staff in each department to the dining and amenities the inn is superb The quality of the services offered and the people who make them possible is first rate. It is almost impossible to acknowledge them all. The valet attendants are welcoming the front desk is efficient the concierge is helpful. The food and beverages are excellent both in quality and quantity The housekeeping staff and food servers are both professional and attentive It is a real pleasure to single one employee out who we have never met face to face. It is Meghan Guzman in reservations. For a Christmas Gift this year we are giving our grandaughter and her fiancée who live in Maine a spring visit to the inn and Meghan expertly helped with all the details. She patiently answered all my questions and arranged what we know will be memory making days for them in Chatham Her work skills are exemplary But Meghan’s genuine kindness sets her apart It is our hope that Ava and Hayden reap the benefits. Chatham itself is a special place and Chatham Bars Inn only adds to that
