rustic place very near the main exit into St Ignace. perfect for a quick night before the drive continues. It was clean with 2 beds, and the price was ok. The building is a log cabin kind that needs some restoration, and TV needs updating.
The hotel looked nice enough from the outside but when we entered the room it had very little room to walk around. The bed frame was broken, leaning down at the head. The mattress was like a camp mattress, wirey and thin and it sagged almost to the ground when sat on.
The price for the area was unbeatable. The downfall to getting an inexpensive motel is substantial depending on how you are used to traveling. I was on a budget this trip so I had to make compromises. The carpets were absolutely horrible. They were stained really bad. Can’t do much about the bugs in a wooded area but vacuuming up the dead ones on the ceiling over the beds would have made my review more positive. We had to leave early every morning and got in past 8pm every night which the owner was unavailable. Which we had to buy toilet paper and use our own towels because the owner was unavailable during those times. A few positives which helped my rating was the outside and the area around the motel was very nice and quiet. I felt safe staying there with my 12 year old daughter and myself. The tv had great channel options and the water pressure and temperature in the shower were above par. Overall I would have to be a 2 star. With a couple changes and details in cleanliness they could easily be a 3.5-4 even without the high dollar amenities.
Basic, clean, convenient, comfortable with access to Lake Huron and easy access to St. Ignace.
Was very old and the service was very bad .Pictures showing that the motel was close to the lake and the pictures were all lies.Never going to stay again.

I really enjoyed the waterfront area. Unfortunately neighboring guests sounded like they were in my space because the walls are not well insulated. My allergies bothered me my entire stay but I'm very sensitive to dust. All surfaces looked cleaned. I'm guessing the carpet hadn't been vacuumed or shampooed recently. The staff that assisted during check out was very pleasant. Overall I was satisfied with my stay. I didn't spend much time in my room and had realistic expectations due to the pricing.
Very quit place. Lake frobt is behind the motel with a beach and fire pit. Its a must place to stay. The Pines Trading Post is next door. Take your room key for free coffee and a donut.
This property is a lot rougher than Expedia makes it look. The carpet in the rooms is disgusting, and nothing has been updated in 30 years. The bathroom is something out of a 1970’s camper. If you like primitive and unclean, you’ll love it here.
The tv volume was not load enough to hear and the management said that it cost too much to get it fixed but they'd have someone out the next day. Shower was WAY too small and the bathroom was questionable.
