Great service. All the team are ready to help at anytime. From booking day trips to getting laundry done, everything was handled. The dinner at the rooftop is a must try experience. It was amazing. The breakfast is also really great!

A lot of stairs (good exercise though)!

Great location - very close (5 mins) to the Forodhani which seemed to me to be the heart of Stone Town. Very helpful staff. Good facilities - comfy rooms, and a great rooftop terrace for dinner, drinks and a show (recommended).

The restaurant with the rooftop and lovely sunset view with live music. The location and history of the building is fascinating. The rooms are spacious.

Breakfast could be improved and the floor in the bedroom could be cleaner.

The location is convenient for those looking for accommodation in Stone Town. The staff are very friendly and welcoming.

There is no door for the bathroom. There are unpleasant odors. The lighting in the room is poor. Amenities are incomplete. The towels are worn out. The stairs are exhausting and unsafe. During dinner at the rooftop restaurant, we were not allowed to sit in the corner, even though the area with Swahili seating was empty, and the waiter probably hadn’t changed his socks in a month.

Charming atmospheric hotel, centrally located in Stone Town. Our room was very spacious, traditionally furnished and decorated but with all “mod cons” and a very comfortable bed. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming and helpful - not to mention efficient! They arranged our transfer from the airport and onward to our next destination and helped with our baggage. We had a lovely meal at their sister hotel on our first evening and they kindly escorted us through the streets so we didn’t get lost! The next night we enjoyed the set dinner on the roof terrace - all the food was delicious and breakfasts were amazing. They also arranged a guided walking tour for us, which we’d recommend. In all, we had a fabulous stay and can’t rate this beautiful hotel and its staff highly enough! Ahsante sana everyone!

Absolutely nothing we didn’t like. I guess the stairs could be a challenge for those less mobile!

The location and the design on the hotel.

The hotel is in need of good maintenance. Not just the rooms themselves but furniture and accessories that you find in the room. Everything also needs a good clean.
