Hotel Guadalupe

Really nice staff, breakfast is good (not included). Rooms are well maintained and clean.

Swimming pool is very small, with only one broken lounging chaud available.

The 24hr parking lot security. They take your car plate# to make sure all the cars in their lot belong there. At a certain hour in the evening, they close and lock the gate. But they have a security guard there all night who will let people in and out, and patrols the grounds all night. I know because I saw him at 2:00am with a flashlight making sure everything was secure.

The rooms aren't safe. Whenever I left my room, I took my valuables with me. The "locks" on the door are primitive with a key and doorknob lock from the 60's. No key fobs or keycards. The bed was hard as a rock, the room was ridiculously small, and worst of all they have suicide showers! You + electricity + water = Suicide Shower. No thank you! Google "Suicide showers in Costa Rica" read about it and look at the images as well. It's called that for a reason

Breakfast and dinner were very good. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

Bed could have been more comfortable.

The rooms with in room water heaters don´t heat the water as much as I´d like.

I think in the second floor annex, if they could put real black out curtains, it would then be perfect. The 5 am morning sun shines strong thru the current curtains

Reasonably priced accommodation in a small town not far from attractions.
