The Sanctuary Cornwall

Welcome homemade cake was surprise bonus. Very comfortable bed. A lovely continental breakfast which you can choose the night before, delicious! We opted for gorgeous fruit, yogurt, granola, ham & cheese with local bread & homemade preserves! Our room was superb & the view is breathtaking. We also made use of the BBQ facilities, which was great for our family visit. Will definitely be back💕

Everything was superb, no issues whatsoever.

The fact that the Sanctuary is off grid was amazing. It was nice to come back to the quiet space after the full day of sightseeing.

I do not have anything specific I did not like about the property.

The Sanctuary is an exceptional place to stay if you want peace and quiet. The property is off grid so there is no tv or WiFi which was heaven for us. Breakfast was amazing with home baked bread and homemade jam. We took ours on the terrace overlooking the fantastic view. Our hosts Karen and David were attentive and so interesting, Karen even baked a cake most days for us all to have a piece. I can't wait to go back again!

A wonderful B and B. Hosts were so friendly and helpful; accommodation was clean and comfortable. Beautiful views and the dogs loved exploring the gardens. Breakfast was delightful especially when taken on the balcony of our room in the morning sun. Good fresh local produce.

Steep drive was a little tricky

Fantastic quiet location overlooking the Fowie River. We had breakfast every day, and brought in supper some days, on our terrace overlooking the river every day as it was so relaxing and delightful. We loved the owners’ commitment to environmentalism and enjoyed living off the grid. The water is all natural and energy from solar power. The facilities are high standard and the breakfasts great. Most of all we enjoyed the many acres of land belonging to the hotel.

The steep but short walk up from the car park was a bit of a nuisance.

Once you have found Karen and David's property, you are greeted joyfully and with a wagging tail by their herding dog Woody. When you enter Karen and David's hillside home “Sanctuary”, every item of furniture, chosen with care and style, conveys a special atmosphere the philosophy of a quality-emphasized, very homogeneous eco-furnishing style and homemade products ecological awareness & responsibility The whole house is full of examples of how to avoid plastic Thus, the ‘Sanctuary’ is a “Green Island” in the best sense of the word and you are shown in an exemplary way how you can run your home household in a more environmentally conscious way without sacrificing comfort. how you can run your household in a more environmentally conscious way without sacrificing comfort In the evening, you can enjoy the sunset over the river from the balcony after an eventful day's vacation. Karen & David set an example or a “lighthouse of green b&&b” with their completely new interpretation of b&&b and By the way: If you don't meet Karen in the house, you can always find her somewhere in her huge “Garden of Eden” from the 😊 Thank you so much, dear Karen and dear David, for this extraordinary experience and the wonderful days! Truly a sanctuary, stay was peaceful, relaxing, and great food both at the sanctuary and locally. Would definitely recommend it. Dog enjoyed the walks and weather behaved all weekend.
