Excellent hotel, staff seem a little inexperienced at times but keen to provide the best service. Room and facilities excellent. Highly recommended

Dirty used cups in room with the previous persons used teabag still in it. No bath towels, room dusty not sure when it was last dusted, hairs from previous guests on tables and bathroom. Bathroom could have been cleaner. Told reception about cups and towels and these where replaced, and as a good will gesture we got free breakfast which wasn't great either. I would have told them about the other problems but on checkout there was a couple who had a long list of complaints and I had a convention to go to.

An ok hotel, it was close to where I needed to be for business and the staff are friendly. However the room I stayed in was not great and needs repairing and or refitting. Breakfast was Ok, I was offered a cup of coffee when I walked in and it never arrived.

Receptionist unwilling to direct us to our room. Lights not all working in the room. Carpet very old and tired. En-suite out dated and shabby. Trip hazard near door, there must be some floor board beneath the carpet that is missing. Inexperienced restaurant staff. Door card system hardly works : kept having to get it reset. Other visitors experienced double booking, despite having booked months in advance. I heard receptionist say “first come first served” and whoever arrived second is directed to another hotel nearby. Diabolical!

The hotel was absolutely beautiful the staff friendly and helpful. The food was very good but unfortunately the coffee at the end of the meal tasted of washing chemicals. No quibble then took it off the bill. Breakfast was hot and well prepared staff very kind. I know the hotel is extremely old but a choice of .ore accessible rooms for my elderly mother in law would have been better considering the very old steep wooden spiral staircases. Overall a very pleasant atmosphere. Room was ok, a little dusty and found 2 pairs of men's a Pants in the drawers.

Impressive hotel in converted manor house. Hotel clearly geared up for wedding market and any other 'ad hoc' guests are a bonus. Had a meal in restaurant which was excellent quality. Choice on room service menu was good, however same can't be said of bar meals menu which only had a choice of two hot meals - Pizza or A Burger at £12 (chips extra at £3)! Breakfast was good and was hot. The only negative point was the fact that table we sat at for breakfast had the same stained cloth on from our meal the night before - although an attempt had been made to hide the stain by the strategic placing of a paper serviette - it failed!

Old wooden spiral stair case to get to top floor with a baby was a nightmare. Loose rug at top of stairs is just an accident waiting to happen. Room was not tidy could physically see the thick amount of dust ontop of all surfaces.

Room very comfortable - staff very friendly and helpful - dinner by the lake side was perfect - good food and peaceful surroundings. Service at breakfast was slow - tea and toast finally arrived but I had finished my cooked breakfast.

Arrived and was asked to pay for room which had already prepaid. Four of lights in room were not working which reported to reception. Said would be fixed but didn't happen. Only one towel in bathroom. Lovely building, big superior room and quiet location. Spoke someone from coach party who were there and had named it Faulty Towers!

Ideal location for Blists Hill and Ironbridge. We changed rooms because we were right on the front by the bar entrance and air conditioning. Our next room just had one bath towel! It’s all a bit dated but the location makes up for that.
