Etna Sea House

Very peaceful

The apartment was spacious and clean. It was good value for money. We recommend.

A bit far from city centre. But we did not mind.

This is not a hotel, it is a set of rooms in an office/ apartment block and has no facilities other than the actual rooms. Access is via a lift to the 6th floor and then via a code lock. There are simply no other facilities other than the rooms and breakfast was served in a cafe 400 yards away down a busy main street, it consisted of a cake and a coffee, hardly substantial. Parking was a nightmare, a free for all in the surrounding streets and the traffic was a nightmare. Never again.

Building with reception, feels very safe. Feels new and clean. Decent view from 6th floor balcony. Instant communication with the owner. Cute fish tank in the corridor. Busy bus stops nearby, metro in walking distance, city centre in walking distance. Clear instructions, tasty sweets as a gift. Breakfast organized in very nice place (brace for lots of chocolate and pistachios!)

A/C present in the room, but not working (no remote provided) until June. I am pointing this out, because A/C is one of my deciding factors when booking accommodation in the south. Very noisy street behind the windows (A/C option would fix it), smoking allowed at the balcony, so if you open the window, you can "enjoy" the noise AND the smoke. "the air conditioners in Sicily are turned on from June onwards", "May temperatures are ideal and no artificial conditioning is needed" (over 20 °C in the night), "Trust me, don't worry, you're fine" were some of the owner's "explanations". I was definitely not fine with the temperature and the noise and the smell (and the excuses). Does not accept card for the on-site payment. I did not find reusable cups - only plastic and paper ones available, but they might have been somewhere. Snooping around is not my way.

positive aspects: Good location, quiet area, close to the center, large balcony, cleaning every day  

negative aspects: I wanted a good accommodation with breakfast included, based on these considerations I made a reservation here. Unfortunately, breakfast is taken at a cafe near the block, and it consists of a coffee and a pastry, if you manage to arrive before 9:00 a.m.

Breakfast was available in a nearby sweet-shop (large selection of coffees and croissants)

のんびりと観光しながら向かおうと思っていましたが、到着時間を何回も聞かれ、観光しながらのメールのやり取りにはまいりました。また、時間を指定されたため、観光の途中で予定を変更してチェックインしに行かなければならず、その後同じ場所に戻りと、時間を無駄にしました。短い観光時間の中でそのようなやり取りに時間を取られ、もったいなかったと思っています。また、それ以降スタッフは見なかったのです（携帯チャットのやり取りになるようです）。 　部屋は広く綺麗に整えられていましたが、暖房が効かず、滞在中ずっと寒さに耐えなければならず、次の日には風邪を引いてしまいました。 　場所も観光スポットから遠く（バスで30分くらい）、不便でした。
