Quality Inn & Suites Dixon near I-88

At check in they noticed my wife was using a walker and changed our room without asking or telling us to a handicap accessible room. Such a big surprise. Breakfast was fantastic too. Pool is under construction at this time. Be aware. Not sure how long until it will be open

Booked a room in advance, got charged immediately. When we arrived at the hotel, front desk said pool is closed due to renovations. NOTHING on the website about that. Asked if I could get a full refund if we canceled and went to a hotel with a pool. It is the only reason we went to the hotel, so we could use the pool for my daughters bday. The front desk said yes, we will be happy to give you a full refund and cancel your stay due to the pool being down. Next day I called to make sure this was canceled, and it was going to get my refund. The girl said yes, we canceled, and you will receive your money in 5 business days. I said ok. Something didn't sit right with me, so i called again the next day and they said yes, it will take some time to refund, but we refunded it. 5 days pass. NOTHING in my account. Called back and asked for a manager, had to wait another 2 hours to get a manager. Told the story again and the manager said we cannot cancel, you have to call choice privileges, gave me the number to call. Called them, went through 2 people and had to tell this long story yet again for them to tell me we cant give you the full refund. You will get a check in the mail that can possibly take up to 6 weeks. So here i am, out of $118 for a room I didnt even stay at, for a promised FULL REFUND. Place is a joke and i will NEVER book through choice privileges/ quality inn in dixon IL. Waste of time and money.

Conveniently placed

It’s was not clean at all. There was a bug in the window seal. The mirrors was horrible you couldn’t barely see unless you cleaned it off first. We also had to check in early and she charged us a $35 fee which was fine was she said she would refund that money after 12 pm that day and didn’t. Then they never told anyone until we got there to check in that the pool was not available. The breakfast was horrible this time and had no flavor. The ice machine on the third floor didn’t work. There was water in the iron and got all over our clothing because the cord wasn’t wrapped properly which in the state of Illinois it is a violation. The lady that checked us in was kind of rude as well.

We liked the lady taking care of the breakfast area. She was very friendly and helpful and did a nice job with the food and cleaning up.

It was what it was. Rooms were clean for the most part, the metal bed frame in our room had a sharp piece sticking out and getting into bed I sliced my foot on it, we moved the mattress over a bit to prevent our daughter from doing the same. Pool was falling apart. Looks like they were updating the shower area but there was chipped paint everywhere, rotting out wood and rusted chair lifts, gooey gunk on the floor by the pool entrance stairs that my daughter accidentally stepped in and we couldn’t tell what it was. We had to ask the front desk to let you into the pool everytime not sure if their key card system was broken or what that was about even though other families were getting in fine from what we saw. Breakfast was average again, things were not stocked like the coffee cups or even food even though there were workers around they just weren’t checking. Staff was friendly just not attentive. Wouldn’t recommend or use this facility again for the price we paid.

Not so good. Checkin was great. We stayed in the side by the front desk. It definitely needs renovated. We were missing a lounge chair. The only chair was at the desk. There was a big open area, but no chair or end table. I felt like we were in a grade school…the toilet was very low. The faucet would shut off, if the handle wasn’t turned completely on. Check out this morning was not so good. There was no one at the front desk. There was a sign that the desk attendant was helping another guest. We were to dial “0” for help. The first time, someone actually answered and they said someone would be right there. After five minutes we called again. The phone just kept ringing. We could hear someone talking in the office. We tried calling “0” twice and after no response, we left the key cards (as we noticed we had already been charged for our 3-night stay) and left, as we had an appointment. Needless to say, after staying there whenever we were in town, we are so glad we have other hotel choices. We have heard that about 30 rooms have been renovated. It would have been nice to know this. It’s probably time to renovate the rest of the rooms.

The ring inside the toilet was covered in mold, a pacifier fell out of towels we were handed by a staff member, the couch with the pullout bed didn’t have a sheet for the mattress nor the extra blankets to accommodate the amount of guests we had. Staff children were running the halls. Staff was very rude.
