Comfort Inn Bordentown near NJ Turnpike

Very run down

It definitely could use an update. Our first room someone was asleep in it. Second room had a muddy hand print on the door casing. Personally love a clean smell and it just smelled like a ash tray

Off of the highway convenience

There where no smoke alarms Charged me 4 times so withheld $450 on my card. Bathroom door broken. Shower dirty. Tv no working

The staff was nice and it smelled great

There was hair stuck to my ac unit, stains on the curtains, and I found a few hairs on my blankets

The lady was nasty

Background... I booked a nonsmoking room with 2 Queen beds to stay in for myself and elderly mother, this is what we went through... When I arrived at the Hotel I was given a door key and went on my way, once I got to the door I swiped the door key and the door didn't open. I tried multiple times every time the door stayed locked. My mom walked down to the desk and told the attendant while I watched our belongings. He came up and swiped the door key only to find out the door stayed locked. He then knocked on the door and to my surprise there was an angry repose as someone was staying in that room. He proceeded to try and talk to the person and then said he would be back and left. After a while he came back with new door keys down the hall to another room. Upon arrival to the second room we were able to get in but as soon as we entered we were hit with the smell of cigarette smoke that was even stronger in the bathroom after specifically selecting a nonsmoking room, my mother was not happy as she is sensitive to the smoke smell. I was just astonished as I looked around the room, both the closet and bathroom doors did not fully close as they were crooked. There was a lamp with no shade on it, the heater looked like it was barely hanging together, and paint was peeling off the ceiling in the bathroom. The clock did not work and I we were just too tired to try and seek out another room and decided to just get sleep as it was soo late. As I turned off the lights and looked at the main door the safety latch was broken and wouldn’t stop anybody and as I locked the main door I could see that was crooked as well with light shining through the edges, it looked like it has been pried open previously, we did not feel safe in that room at all. We eventually woke and went to the door that goes to the stairs, there wasn’t even a handle on the door! Eventually I went down to sample the breakfast, I can’t see how it is called that, there was no cereal in the bins, just a few pastries and donuts with a batter machine for making waffles. I didn’t even waste my time there and took a cup of coffee and left. That whole building should be condemned, I definitely will never be staying at another Comfort Inn ever… and neither will anyone else who asks what hotels I prefer, I’m just glad I survived the stay.
