Sonder at Hance Park

It was great to have access to a pool, lounges, and in-unit washer/dryer. Clean apartment, however, for three adults, there was not nearly enough seating. Only two chairs and a small couch.

Apartment itself was great. Two separate companies - Portrait and Sonder. Portrait is suppose to maintain the Sonder 3 floors of apartments however never any vacuum or cleaners and the stairwells just filthy as the leased tenants all have big dogs. The guy who cleaned Portrait was just darn right lazy.

Cleaners would help with the problem. Also got a urine infection from the pool no maintenance on that either. Ants crawling all over and the smell of sick or dog poop, Too bad for such a beautiful complex guess thats what you get for Trump getting rid of cheap Mexican labour.

Odd way to have to enter this building if you don't drive.

My husband parked our car at the property so that after the wedding our car would already be at the property. We booked the room for our honeymoon and after our wedding when we got to the property they towed our vehicle, and the car was gone. We didn’t even end up staying at the hotel that night. And spent the next day trying to get the car out of the tow! Horrible honeymoon night, absolute Disaster!!! The property did nothing to accommodate us or even attempt to refund us even though we didn’t stay. The instructions on how to access the room were not clear at all.

The property is very nice, and char support was immediate. But my god was the bed uncomfortable—all the pillows were overstuffed in the worst way, and the mattress was like a slab of cement. My partner actually prefers a firm mattress and even he didn’t sleep well here.

This accommodation is perfect for a solo traveller/couple who like their own space. I prefer the apartment style hotels to a more “traditional” hotel, and this Sonder also has a gorgeous pool and pretty decently equipped gym. The room itself had everything you could need, with top of the range kit equipment, a nice balcony, a small living space and a small bedroom. Personally, I love a firm bed so it was absolutely perfect. Plenty of storage AND a washing machine and dryer. The check-in system is easy once you get your head around all the numbers and fobs, and the customer service team via the app were great.

The reason I didn’t give it a 10 out of 10 was purely because down to the local area. There isn’t loads to do in the immediate vicinity – it’s not too far to walk towards the city centre (I think I did it in 15 to 20 minutes) but some people may not feel comfortable doing this, especially at night. There is also quite a large homeless community in the area - I had NO problems whatsoever but it may make some travellers feel less safe. However – I would expect this in any major US city! Would definitely stay here again, especially if the price stays as affordable.
