WARNING: Do not book at Courtyard by Marriott 5555 Carmichael Rd, Montgomery, AL 36117. Arrived late night. Lobby was in good condition but when asked to see a room prior to check-in I noticed extremely soiled hallway carpet and the room smelled old and musty. As a Marriott Bonvoy member this property wasn’t of standard. Renovations are desperately needed throughout. Also, the surrounding area is VERY sketchy. Didn’t feel safe as a female traveler!!!! Sadly, my credit card was charged for the unoccupied room and I had to find alternate accommodations last minute. I’ve contacted Bonvoy customer service on multiple occasions with no resolution although I was assured charges would be reversed. Please be sure to read reviews from multiple sources prior to booking this location!!!

This is the worst Marriott property I have ever stayed at! Ratchet smell! I had to sleep with the patio door open because the smell in the room was so bad The could barely get the door to my room open. The shower was dirty and moldy The iron did not work I have stayed over 1300 nights as a Bonvoy member at Marriott Hotels. This is the dirtiest hotel I have ever stayed at

The dirty room that they gave me when I check in , the door kept locking and not working having to go down stairs for a new key or to get the key working again they say it was 255 charged my card 300

This hotel has all the basics regarding a comfortable bed and clean room. It lacks some of the basics we are accustomed to however. Our room did not have a microwave which has been in just about every room we have ever booked on our travels. One of the desk lamps was impossible to turn off short of pulling its plug. There was no complimentary coffee, another staple of just about all hotels. We wanted to do our laundry as we were on a cross country road trip, but found out that although there is a laundry on the property, there was no change available to use it! Pretty much makes it unusable as most travelers don’t travel with multiple quarters in change. The refrigerator was badly in need of a defrosting. Good variety of food was available at their in-house bistro and it was surprisingly good. That was nice as we were pretty tired and there is not much available in the vicinity other than fast food. For the price, this hotel needs to up their game a bit. Attention to details is needed.

The room smelled awful. The couch and the bedding had several unidentifiable yet disgusting stains on them. So uncomfortable I slept in my clothes and full length jacket so I wouldn't touch the bed. Also the lighting was extremely dim like a lamp or light was missing.

😡 I am highly disappointed and disgusted. The lobby will trick you. My “hotel suite” carpet was filthy, the couches are filthy (stained), room smells, light fixtures are broken, walls cracked, food left in refrigerator 🤦🏻‍♀️. I had to be placed in another room. It wasn’t any better. DONT STAY HERE.
