Days Inn by Wyndham Lisbon

The staff were great. The room was great. The check-in and check-out process were great. I was traveling and needed to get to sleep early to take an elderly family member to a medical appointment, and they put me in a room with an adjoining door. Unfortunately, the people in that room were VERY NOISY UNTIL 2 or 3 A.M. and I barely got any sleep -- which was my entire reason for visiting the hotel. I needed to get to sleep early and it didn't happen.

The location was easy to find, the facility was clean, the breakfast was decent, and the staff were super. In fact I’m giving it the rating that I am because the staff were so awesome.

I almost slipped twice taking a shower (room 129) because the tub was really slippery. I ended up having to hold on to the handicap rails so that I wouldn’t. Also, the walls were really thin and we could hear our adjacent “neighbors” yelling and cussing at each other. Luckily, most of it ended around midnight. There was also a very strong marijuana smell coming from a room and we were in the nonsmoking section of the hotel. I felt that it was a bit pricey for the quality of the stay.

I was clean and newly renovated.

The breakfast didn’t have any meat and it was cold.

The breakfast was fair. Nothing special but they did have eggs, waffles and some cereals. It suited my needs.

I reserved a smoking room online. While checking me in, the front desk clerk asked if I meant to reserve a smoking room. I said yes, and she responded "Smoking rooms are for tobacco only. This means that if I so much as suspect you are smoking marijuana in the room, I will have the cops banging on your door 10 minutes later to bring you to jail." While I completely understand a no-marijuana smoking policy, threatening the guest during check in was completely uncalled for, and left me on edge for my entire stay. I don't think I look like a marijuana smoker, and as a non-marijuana smoker I certainly didn't ask nor insinuate I would be smoking anything other than cigarettes in the room. I can only assume the clerk threatens everyone who reserves a smoking room. Additionally, every ice machine in the entire hotel was out of order.
