Travelodge by Wyndham Waukegan Gurnee

This hotel was overall a gross experience. From the halls that reeked of cigarettes to the dilapidated lobby with tape covering up "Days Inn" (indicating what it once was), this place was one of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in. (I've travelled to 39 U.S. states.) My partner and I received 1 key card to share among the two of us, we had to give a $20 deposit at check-in which was not expressed earlier over the phone or online, the clerk killed a live fly in front of us during check-in, we were given no wifi password, our towels were filthy, the bed comforter had stains, the door was impossible to open without slamming through it with my shoulder, the TV remote batteries were dead, the bedsheets didn't fit the matress, the bathroom waste basket wasn't bagged, we had to make our own "Do not Disturb" sign, and the coffee machines in our room was broken. Their breakfast offer was also no longer valid and I was told "their website is inaccurate." They did have a coffee dispenser, but without cups. I asked for two cups. The front clerk brought me back a single cup covered in small worms. I told him I needed a second cup. There was no apology, thank you, or any verbal exchange. The coffee was also cold. One positive though; the bed was fine. Still, this place isn't worth it.

This was a terrible property to stay at. It smelled like smoke. There is a $20 deposit fee the staff does not tell you about. They allow smoking and there were cigarette burn holes in the sheets. Would NOT recommend. It was not worth what we paid.

Great value for what I paid!

I didnt like the fact that after 10pm there was no security on the doors leading outside. The hotel smelled funny like it had had alot of pets and the lady at the desk was very rude accusing my party of snoking in the room, which after she and a member of my party went back into the room she tealized that there had been no smoking done in the room. She threatend to call the police and said we were could not return to the hotel, thatcwas fine with me because if I hadnt been there for a funeral i would have left when i pulled in the parkinglot

Overall it was a pretty good experience the bathroom was a little dirty the shower had a little mold and the toilet was a little messy but for the price you can’t beat it

Don’t know how this is a Travelodge approved facility. Not clean, not friendly staff, does not take credit card only cash deposit!!! and the list goes on

When I showed up, a girl was sitting on a large table that was blocking the service desk. Only after she was done with her phone call did she actually move out of the way. The lady behind the counter never broke a smile. In fact, none of the staff ever smiled or welcomed me at all. There were cigarette burns in the blanket of my “no smoking” room. I guess you get what you pay for in this instance.

Everything looked clean but towels, blankets and pillows had stains on them and one of the towels had holes. Very unsure if they were actually clean or not.

Very outdated. Towels and wash cloths very stained! Expected to leave a $50 deposit and it has to be cash!!! No buffet! No coffee in room or downstairs!!! Not much for bedding!

only thing available. no cups in room, one tiny bar of soap, one coffee pot in lobby with small amount of creamer and no sugar. blanket and items in bathroom were stained….. need i go on…..
