Fern Howe Guest House is a strictly nonsmoking and vaping property, to include all internal and external areas. Anyone found to have been smoking within their rooms will be charged a minimum £150 cleaning charge per room affected, and may be asked to leave. Please advise at time of booking of any dietary requirements. Breakfast is served via two seating times of 7.45am and 8.15am Fern Howe Guest House operates on a self check-in basis. As depicted in the photos, the Single Mountain (Fell) View Room; the Family Mountain (Fell) and Garden View Suite; and the Twin Mountain (Fell) and Garden View Room all have some areas with reduced ceiling height, due to their location on the top floor of the building.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation. This property does not accommodate bachelor(ette) or similar parties. A deposit may be required at the property.

"Pleasant weekends with lovely host"

The location, the host, the rooms all are amazing.

There was power cuts multiple times in the evening. We stayed with kids, so it was a bit uncomfortable during the dark.

"Pleasant stay with warm food at the excellent location."

I like the quiet neighborhood and hillside where the guest house is located. The breakfast is very good and makes you full until the afternoon. Emma is very kind to makes your stay comfortable and warm when I asked more blankets and heating. Self-check in and check out system is efficient enough to enjoy the peacefulness of the accommodation without bothering the host. The place is perfect for family if you drive around the area.

The room in which I was placed smells a bit without sufficient ventilation. The garden view was blocked from the fence. The toilet is working but the sound is too loud. The bed is very weak and sounds terrible whenever I move.

A lovely, welcoming place in a stunning location. Every day there is a nice piece of cake and breakfast is generous. There is good public transport and nice restaurants as well. And then there are the lakes and mountains.

Good location, very clean room and bathroom, lovely breakfast. There are only 2 slots for breakfast though, 7.45 and 8.15, extremely well organized as you get exactly what you have ordered in advance at your reserved table, good if you like an early morning start.

No interaction with the hosts as everything is self service, entrance with code, breakfast booking, breakfast time preset not so flexible.

The property is clean and quiet, and Emma is helpful. The breakfast is excellent. There are cakes served in the afternoon for guests, which I found very sweet.
