"Lovely evening with delicious food"

10.0

I phoned the Luttrell to book a table in the bar for dinner and asked for a quiet table, if possible, as we hoped to bring our elderly dog with us. They didn't disappoint, a lovely quiet table was reserved for us. Thank you, it was perfect. The staff were all friendly and the food was delicious. Hubby thoroughly enjoyed the venison followed by poached pear and I had the delicious turkey followed by Christmas pud. All in all we had a lovely evening with our dog Maisie which meant so much to us.

"A little politeness goes a long way!!"

2.0

Can’t comment on the food as we didn’t get across the threshold as was fully booked. But the rudeness of the head waiter in not welcoming us was exceptional!!

"Long beard man rude!"

2.0

Went into the pub for some food and the man with the long beard was so rude, was hesitant to sitting us at a empty table and when he gave me my drink he slammed it down and was very inconsiderate, everything seemed like an inconvenience to him and was very rude to us when we decided we just wanted drinks instead of food.he got my drink order wrong and I was very hesitant to saying anything about it because of his negative demeanour.

"Let's hope The Luttrell Arms finds its way back to past glories."

6.0

After 20 years of frequenting the LA, I am disappointed. Average. Average food. Average beer. Poor service. The food came out amazingly quickly. Too quickly? Staff really need to be able to distinguish between IPA and Bitter. Staff complaining about other guests in full view of other guests is not a very nice experience. By all means complain about the guests, but do it out of ear shot (I am sure some guests are not very polite but we should hold ourselves to a higher standard) and when providing service do it with good grace and politeness. Let the guests 'enjoy' their average meal before asking to pay. Went for a pint at the Stag's Head later in the day. The welcome was warm, the open fire was on (unlike the LA), the place was full, all tables were booked and the atmosphere was lively. Looking forward to re-visiting.

"Wonderful Hotel"

10.0

Had an absolutely wonderful stay here to celebrate our anniversary. The staff are extremely welcoming and friendly, and very helpful with local recommendations and knowledge. The hotel is very old and atmospheric with lots of different levels, areas and hidden corners which adds to its charm. The meals are superb - we ate in the hotel every evening, and a couple of times for lunch as well. There is a restaurant, a cosy bar, and several outside areas which we could enjoy even in September. Best of all, the hotel is very dog friendly. There was a bed and bowls in the room when we arrived, and a treat on the breakfast table each morning. We also had a small garden area, and access to the surrounding parkland. My dog absolutely loved her stay and meeting all her new friends!

"Exceptional"

10.0

Lovely hotel. Rooms spacious and immaculate. Only disappointment was the food. Menu was not really to our taste and when we did manage to find something suitable the cooking was not great. My comments about tough meat which I couldn't eat were acknowledged. Otherwise great stay.

Everything to do with the Lutterell Arms Hotel was 5* The parking is a problem as the High Street parking was always full, but didn’t spoil our stay!

"Return visit and not disappointed"

10.0

A return visit and as good as we remembered. Super welcome from the friendly staff, good quality room and fittings and dog bed and bowl provided. Food as good as we had hoped for, excellent cooked breakfast and range of fresh fruit, cereals and pastries. Room opened to a small patio area and access to the grounds of Dunster Castle which was ideal for dog walking. Parking, as always, an issue but if you can get a spot across the road from the hotel its very convenient otherwise its the public car park around 100 yards away. Will we visit again? We certainly hope so.

"Nice old fashioned hotel and restaurant"

10.0

We had dinner one night and it went well. Restaurant service was excellent as well as friendly. Prices okay but wine by the glass a bit pricey. Overall a good old fashioned type of hotel and restaurant. Clearly popular.
