The Grand Hotel Leicester by The Unlimited Collection

The staff were really good and helpful. full marks to their hospitality. But the layout of the room was very awkward. There was no space top plug the kettle. Only one socket to plug in phone etc. The tea and coffee supply for barely minimum. It was just a really awkward room set-up and felt really crowded even when it was just two of us. Another little glitch was that you can hear everything in the corridor. even when someone opens or shuts their door. There was an incident on the night we stayed and we were all evacuated into the car park due to a fire alarm. The staff managed the process really well. All in all, the stay was ok. It it wasn't for the location, I would avoid booking this place.

What a beautiful place... it definitely deserves its name of The Grand Hotel! The staff were helpful and friendly, the foyer is lovely... very clean and spacious with very grand stairs leading to the rooms (I don’t like lifts). My room was comfortable and very clean with proper pillows! The bathroom was one of the best hotel bathrooms I’ve been in! I would definitely stay here again.

Got this room at half price due to a mix-up by Expedia. Nice place but no air-conditioning and very noisy area.

Nice lobby. Rooms small and walls are thin can hear everything and people walking and snoring in the next room

Very hot room but got upgraded so can’t complain

Excellently placed hotel, 5 minutes walk from the train station, 5 minutes walk from city centre with lots of shops/restaurants. Great for the price (I paid £245 for 4 nights in a single room) Staff were friendly. Room was fine, bed was quite short but so am I so no problem. Only possible complaint was no air conditioning but room and bathroom had very large windows so not too bad. I was at the back of the building so fairly quiet but it would be a little louder in the front rooms due to the location and nightlife.

Room carpet was filthy and stained and the room smelt of peppery damp and mould. Changed room twice but were told that this was a great room. Seemly another room with 2 single beds was impossible to find in an empty hotel. Refurbished in main lobby area is lovely though but the rooms are sadly not up to standard. At £100 per night ( not including breakfast) this was the worst hotel I have ever seen.

Nice hotel, clean, comfortable and as a lone female traveller, I felt safe there. My only criticism, would be the level of service offered at both check in and check out, it took far too long. Very friendly staff, but they are in need of some staff training with regards to customer service and the hotels IT system. Having said that, I would still stay at this property
