Reception and house keeper were excellent Breakfast staff rude and uninterested with setup late Hotel could use a refurb

The hotel was dirty, there was no room service and the night staff where rude and unhelpful. We asked if we could order some food one lunch time and we were told they were to busy dealing with a wake. We would not recommend anyone to stay there

On arrival at around 17:20 I was told there were no double rooms available, despite me and several others in reception having booked double rooms. I was left waiting in reception for around 40 minutes for a resolution. By this time I had a restaurant reservation, so I had to leave and was unable to shower or change. I let the reception staff know that I couldn't wait any longer and would return in a couple of hours. When I returned, now around 20:00, the reception staff were still not sure if the room was ready and it took another 10 minutes for them to go and check the room themselves. When I got to room, it was clear that the bedsheets had been changed and some towels dropped off, but the room hadn't been cleaned at all. The bathroom was dirty, still had the previous occupants toothpaste on the taps and in the sink, and it looked like someone had used the side of the bath to tie their shoes, with little bits of dirt on and in the bath. The room itself was long overdue a refresh, the lamps didn't work everything was very worn out, and had it not been so late, I'd have been looking for somewhere else. The reception staff in the morning were helpful with my invoice, the breakfast was nice although not worth £10 and the parking was convenient.

Good facilities provided in the hotel. The decorating was a little tired and the hotel was in need of redecorating to improve it

Enjoyed my stay here but could have been better. Positives: Quite nice room, relatively up to date and very clean. Good swimming pool and spa. Good location just outside of Leeds. Friendly staff. Quite nice hotel grounds. Negatives: The exterior of the hotel is statting to look a bit shabby. Could do with a full makeover. Certain areas within the hotel not quite as clean as they should be. No draught beer available at the bar throughout our stay. (Told it was a problem with the pumps). Our room wasn't made up at any time during our 4 night stay, despite leaving the request sign on the door handle every morning. (The cleaners knocked on our door to ask only on the day we were leaving)! Restaurant was expensive. Didnt use it once because of this. To sum up, the hotel just about did its job but needs to improve considerably.

Shower power was non existent and temperature was stuck on boiling hot. Although, the bed was comfortable and the balcony in the room was a nice addition. I felt like the whole hotel was just, dated, and needed a good spruce up. Stained carpet in the room and the window nets were hanging down; as in not put up properly. The hotel gym was nice, plenty of kit. The hotel food however was below par; I only ate dinner, breakfast might have been better. The important thing though, the bed. It was good, nothing to rave about but it was good. Overall I feel the hotel just needs some TLC, it has potential to be really really nice.
