Sonder The Stat

We booked this because it was cheaper but its less flexible than a hotel. For example we ended up being 45 mins early for check in and we had to sit and wait in the cold with our bags because the time to pay for early check in had already passed. Plus one of the baggage storage recommendations was indefinitely closed and then the other place was a random store that you have to get an uber to because its not near the hotel so by the time you pay for all of that you may as well just have paid for a hotel where they will store baggage complimentary etc. Also we liked that this had a kitchen but it was missing basics like there was an oven but no oven trays to use the oven.

The property had one bedroom, ample loving space, bathroom and full kitchen. Very clean and comfortable. Temperature control was easy to understand. The dining recommendation “Midtown Cafe” was delicious and reasonably priced.

Windows could not lock

Private little apartment but can hear the other units through the thin floors and walls. The furniture was nice but the nested table was not clean and the bathroom needs new paint and silicon. The bed was not very comfortable. Overall a very average stay.

This property was on the bottom floor in the rear of the property and not one of the windows shut all the way or locked. Was very uncomfortable.

Space is big, the bed is comfortable and the kitchen is very good

Where to start… First of all, the lock on the door looks very dirty and old—pretty disgusting, considering we have to type the code to get in. When I entered my room, the bathroom was dirty—there was hair in the toilet and some drops of God knows what… There were no lights in the living room, and the place was very dark. Not sure if they weren’t working or if I just didn’t know how to turn them on. After seeing the bathroom situation, I asked in the app if I could stay for just one night and get a refund for the other days because, to me, a clean place is very important. They were not helpful at all. So I decided to stay anyway since I didn’t want to lose that money. Things were getting better, but then I ordered something from Walmart to be delivered the next day. I went to the supermarket, and unfortunately, they delivered it while I was out… someone stole the package! I tried asking for help in the app, since there’s a camera at the door, but once again, they were not helpful at all. They just sent me a recorded response and didn’t even bother to look into what happened. Anyway, I’m not staying at a Sonder place again. I’ve stayed at a few before, and they were usually way better than this one. But you know the quality of a service by how they act when things go wrong… This place feels more like a cheap hostel, so don’t waste your time if you care about comfort and quality!

I liked the no contact, let yourself in and let yourself out. I also liked being close to downtown but not in the busy busy downtown.

Good stay overall, bed was surprisingly comfortable for it not being my own. Met our needs.
