Calathea Hotel Monteverde

Location was great, just outside of town. The views of the mountains, valleys and Lake Arenal were awesome. Breakfast was good and always fresh.

We loved everything about the hotel, and will definitely come back again!

Charming B&B just outside Santa Elena town center, with an European vibe. We were offered an option of a delicious breakfast on the terrace with a view of the Nicoya Peninsula. (Do check out the view of the sunset on the terrace as it was spectacular.) Tidy and cosy room with a dehumidifier included, comfortable bed with soft sheets. Convenient parking. Very Helpful front staff who provided suggestions in English. Recommended!

Comfortable hotel with great access to the Santa Elena and Monteverde areas. Breakfast at the hotel made it easy to get to the various parks early before they typically get crowded.

The rooms are clean, modern, and gorgeous. The property itself is in a great location with free easy parking on site. Great place to stay for a vacation. Breakfast is tasty.

Wry nice place to stay and enjoy. The place has a direct sunset view from balcony which is awesome! We had 2 bedrooms and was great with kids. Overall good place to stay and staff was very friendly and helped us books cabs, transportation, local food delivery etc.

The staff is very helpful, the place is cute and clean, and breakfast is an added bonus with wonderful indoor or outdoor seating or in your room. I wish it was closer to town as you need a taxi but then you wouldn’t get the great view.
