Calathea Hotel Monteverde

Perfect boutique hotel, staff are very friendly and accommodating, very clean room and great breakfast!

This place was super sweet! Really lovely staff, excellent views on the shared patio deck area, and a clean, cozy room. The breakfast was amazing every single morning. There was also a really cute kitty wondering around the property which we really enjoyed.

The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Provided local eating suggestions when we inquired and helped us getting taxi cabs when needed. There were several breakfast choices and the food was very good! The view from the upper balcony was beautiful overlooking the lake and a great place to see the sun set. I’d stay here again for sure!

We especially liked the staff at the Calathea lodge. They were very helpful and phoned in delivered meals for us. They also called for transportation when needed. They provided laundry service when our clothes got soiled during zip lining. Glenn is the best!

This is a lovely little place with large rooms, good facilities and awesome, friendly staff. They were excellent about helping us with tours and other recommendations. We really enjoyed the breakfast every day which was brought to our room. From the terrace you can watch the sunset over the water off in the distance. The lodge is a half hour walk from town which means that it is less frenetic so perhaps it's easier if you have a car. We did not, but the staff showed us an app where you can order food delivery, and it's very easy and cheap to get a taxi into town and back. About $5 each way. There is a small grocery store very close by. We'd stay here again.

Large room. Very quiet. The desk girl was very helpful!!!

Would definitely stay here again. Rooms were clean, tidy, and looked new. We liked that it was a bit more remote and it felt very safe with gated parking. Terrific breakfast (you order the night before and schedule what time you'd like to eat).

Staff was very friendly and caring. Easy checkin process. Nice property and great boutique hotel overall
