Hampton Inn Philadelphia-Great Valley

We stayed here July 27-30. The room was clean, quiet, and with plenty of charging outlets/plugs. It had a nice bathroom with good towel supply. A healthy continental breakfast was available off the lobby. Convenient parking in front or back of the hotel. The fitness room is small but has a Peleton bike, treadmill, elliptical and a good set of dumbbells.

As a Hilton Honors Diamond member, I enjoy staying at different properties throughout the Hilton portfolio. Being in this part of Pennsylvania I decided to try this Hampton Inn. Check-in and room selection went well, done the day before arrival on the app. I had splurged a little and treated myself to a suite. Little did I know what was waiting for me. Upon arrival while I had the option of bypassing the desk with my Digital Key, I decided to stop there first to obtain the spring water and snacks I was entitled to. The man at the desk appeared to have a chip on his shoulder after he asked me if I wanted a plastic key. I asked him if he trusted that the Digital key would work, and he couldn't answer but repeated that he was asking me if I wanted one. I said never mind, and my Digital Key worked fine so his diatribe was a moot point. The suite was certainly amply sized for me with plenty of space for room for my belongings. Bathroom had good counter space. WiFi and TV worked well. Climate control was a problem. The room was way too cold when I walked in, as if the A/C had been running for days. I turned the temperate way up, but the cold air continued to flow. In fact the system would not turn off at all. When I got into bed, I noticed that the pillows were very thin...... amazingly too thin like cardboard. And there was a musty smell somewhere around the bed, although I am not sure if it was coming from the pillows, the bed, or furniture nearby. The smell combined with the constantly blowing air caused me to not fall asleep, not at all. I later did figure out how to put the thermostats on "auto" so that the units would stop blowing air for a while. I ended up getting out of bed long before the time I intended to get up (and it took me days to make up for the sleep deficit). No excuses for anyone, much less a Diamond member and one who paid more for a suite, to have inferior sleeping conditions and have to put up with whatever was causing that horrible smell. I have to wonder now if housekeeping intentionally made the room stay cold to mask the smell, which it did until I was ready to go to sleep. Breakfast the next morning was OK. Checked out by the app since I had no plastic key to return. Unless this hotel decides to make their rooms hospitable, I would not recommend staying here.

The front desk was super helpful and kind. The internet was good and the room was welcoming with my name on the tv. Soaps etc in bathroom were full and less toxic than many hotels. I liked that they were more natural.

The room didn’t have a luggage rack and was a bit small though clean. The bathroom door was a barn door which isn’t that private and had gaps in it. Not very comfortable. The bedding wasn’t very long and felt like it wasn’t comfortable all night.

This hotel was recommended by nearby family, and we stayed for a week. Exceeded expectations and had excellent service. Very happy with this stay. The management has an impeccable approach to running a hotel of this type. The grounds and facilities are spotless and beautiful. This is the best Hampton Inn I have ever experienced.

Bathrooms have sliding door and not a conventional lock. Closet space very small and behind a curtain. Treadmill not functioning. Breakfast average Beds uncomfortable
