The Ship Inn - Self Catering Accommodation

The position of The Ship Inn was lovely - quiet, peaceful and, being close to the water, attracted some wonderful water fowl, which we enjoyed this morning.

When we arrived back at The Ship Inn, after a long day at a nearby wedding, we were aware of a loud boiler-like noise from above our room. We weren’t too happy, however, accepted there was nothing we could do at 11.00 pm other than go to bed. I was up early this morning and took a cuppa tea outside to savour the tranquil environment. I decided to use the Disabled Loo to avoid waking my sleeping partner, only to discover the cold tap was running at full force. Once I had turned it off, the irritating noice stopped - a minimum of 12 hours running cold water not a good idea! This also affected and irritated my Son and d-in-law, who were staying next door to us. My suggestion would be to check the Disabled Toilet when closing up the Pub for the night, to avoid a reoccurrence. And perhaps lock the Disabled Toilet every night to prevent passers by using the facilities during night hours.

The staff were so friendly and welcoming. The sleep was UNREAL. Food amazing. Sleep amazing. Will stay again. Absolute gem!

Nothing. Literally nothing we didn’t like.

We have stayed before. The room’s are motel style with own door. The size of room is modest with all amenities, cooker, fridge etc if you’re staying for a few days. Food in the pub was very good

The door to the room requires attention. Locking it was difficult. Grout in the shower could do with a clean and the plug in the sink was difficult to operate.

Excellent location. Comfortable room and great food in the pub. Was quiet and a great way to get away from the rat race.

Great value and well equipped.

Stuffy as no window. A bigger TV would be great.

Lovely room! Warm, clean, well equipped, quiet sleep, easy check in/out. Great location on the river for walks. Ideal pub with a lovely beer garden & space next to the river serving great pub food with friendly staff & happy locals. Fantastic for the price!
