Ocean Coast Hotel at the Beach Amelia Island

It’s excellent for what it is- a budget motel at the beach. The staff receives all the stars.. Shay at front desk and woman working the kitchen, housekeeping.. all top notch in customer services. Breakfast bar is typical and the same at some higher end hotels so it makes the deal even better. The room itself is clean, comfortable, big fridge with freezer, huge bathroom (we got a King room), bathtub, TV with all the channels worked great, pillows and bed were actually comfortable. The AC was a bit loud but aren’t they all?! The pool area looks splendid with nice hammocks, fun for families. It rained the time we were there so didn’t get to use. Also, the free bike rental gives this place extra points. They also offer a paid package of beach chairs and toys which is helpful. Very close to a couple beachside restaurants and bars, could hear bands playing and seemed lively. DQ is right across the street and in the same parking lot is V’s pizza which is incredible!! I’d stay here again.

Best thing about this hotel is the location. Hotel is dated which I don’t mind if it is well taken care of and clean, BUT This hotel the linens weren’t clean, fabric very rough, they didn’t clean room during our stay and the room had such a bad humidity problem the floors not just bathroom the whole room. were so wet I had to wear my shoes the whole time. They should seriously invest in dehumidifier system. If you don’t like walking on wet floors stay somewhere else even If you have to spend a few more dollars

Despite a lot of decent reviews about this place it wasn’t that good. The ONLY good thing about this hotel is the location which is great down block from beach, great restaurants and close to downtown and historic sites

The room was so humid, the floor not just in bathroom but the sleeping area was constantly wet! Had to wear shoes the whole stay. Even inside dresser draws were damp. They need to get a Dehumidifier system through out the place. Their excuse is they are close to the ocean. Hotel needs some major updating our ceiling had a big crack looked like it could collapse any minute. The sheets were gritty with sand and no cleaning of the room during our stay. $10 parking also. A lot of rust in shower pipes as well.

The staff and location were the highlight of the visit. The hotel is dated but clean . The amenities are kept up nicely with pickleball courts and a nice pool area in good use . It’s evident the company cares about maintaining the property in good order. Even though the rooms are not updated it’s nice to have an affordable option so close to the beach . The hot breakfast has a great variety of choices with Robin doing a great job overseeing the cleanliness. We would stay again .
