Hotel Levon Ella

Good location just outside of Ella town. In walking distance to Ella Rock and town. Staff (Raj & Delson) very good and welcoming us on late arrival and good cooks for breakfast. Clean room & pictures accurate.

Good location

The room was clean but the bedding smelt unwashed and was not pleasant at all. Frustrating the property is cash only but they were accommodating with this. It is not a boutique hotel more a B&B

Fantastic stay in Ella. Very comfortable rooms, comfy bed and big lovely balconies to watch sunrise on. Close to Ella Rock turnoff, otherwise can walk into town on the tracks. Beautiful views every morning and rooftop breakfasts - Dave the host and his team did an amazing job, as a solo traveller I felt right at home. Had the best breakfasts I had in Sri Lanka each morning, remembered I love jackfruit! Will be back when I am in Ella again someday.

Staff were very welcoming. Incredibly comfortable and relaxing. Perfect place to switch off. Short tuk tuk ride into main Ella town. Breakfast was very delicious!

The highlight was definitely the view from the room. The greenery and the train track. All facilities in the room were sufficient enough and good for a night’s stay. The owner and team are very kind and courteous and made my stay very comfortable. I would categorize this place more as a B&B rather than a boutique hotel, based on the facilities and the homier feel.

The manager meets you on arrival, which is a nice personal touch. He informs you about the attractions and restaurants that provide local cuisine. Staff is very friendly and helpful, they go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable.

The location of the hotel is great- the views are amazing and it’s only a short tuk tuk ride to get into Ella or a lovely walk along the train track. Communication with hosts and the owner was great- Dave sent someone to meet us at the station which was helpful and arranged a driver for when we were leaving. Got to give a big shout out to our hosts Raja and Dilshan though as they make this hotel. Both are super helpful and made us an incredible breakfast each morning, alternating between Sri Lankan and European. They were knowledgeable about the area and helped us with planning our time in Ella. If you can- definitely get dinner from Riverface- a cafe about 200 m from the hotel. The only downside for us was the lack of amenities- my fault as I hadn’t looked properly, but there are only soft drinks available from the hotel and the nearest bar was closed. The hotel seems expensive for basic facilities but this could be due to the high demand for accommodation in Ella. Either way we really enjoyed our stay- thanks Raja and Dilshan!

The staff were completely brilliant! So sweet, friendly and helpful. The best of our trip! And the view is just gorgeous!

Nothing to dislike. Rooms possibly slightly dated but still charming.

The views were beautiful. Was fun watching the iconic train arrive & leave & people walking along train tracks. Breakfast freshly cooked & tasty. Rooms small but well appointed with sockets. Only 1 stand to hang clothes so lived out of suitcase. Bathroom spacious & good shower. Enjoyed sitting out on terrace early morning & night time. Staff were lovely & helpful.

Arrived in the dark & really struggled to find the hotel - no visible signage & down a very winding road. On arrival no food available & recommended a couple of restaurants nearby but really needed transport. Quite away out of Ella town & thankfully we had cash to pay as was expected to pay on arrival. Rooms although comfortable & nicely appointed are small. Overpriced for facilities but perhaps paying for the beautiful view.

The location of the hotel is very nice. It is a little outside of Ella but only a short tuktuk ride or a beautiful 30min walk along the railway away from the center. The view is amazing and it is so calm and relaxing. You can see the famous train passing by. The rooms Are fine and the staff is just perfect! They help you with everything and will do a nice breakfast for you. Would always come back.
