Hotel Levon Ella

Really nice and helpful personal and really recommend.

Very peaceful and secluded location. Breakfast was simply but good enough for us. The manager is very help and kind.

A bit too basic for us but considering the price, you get what you paid for.

The staff and owner were delightful. The rooms were lovely and clean with a spectacular view . They were all super helpful , kind and thoughtful and made our stay extra special, there is a handy Tuk Tuk park located just down the road that makes getting to and from Ella very straightforward. The train also runs into the town every evening. It is also situated superbly if you are wanting to go a see Ella’s rock. It is possible to walk from the hotel taking about 45 mins to get to the top.

A must stay! Everything was great. Dave and his staff were always very communicative, responsive and flexible. The place itself is super comfortable and has AMAZING views. It is overlooking the Kithal ella train station and you get to see the trains pass by every few hours until the evenings - a delightful experience. The location is at max 10 minutes away from Ella town by tuk-tuk and particularly convenient if hiking Ella rock or visiting Little Ravana falls. What made the experience unforgettable is Rangana and Dilshan, the on site staff at the hotel. They were very sweet and helpful and took good care of us, even providing us with some valuable recommendations for local activities. The freshly made breakfast was delicious - perhaps some of the best meals we had in Srilanka! We hope to visit here again

The location was a bit far from Ella

Lovely, clean room overlooking Ella rock and the railway. Staff went out of the way to be accommodating, made us a little packed lunch to take with us on the walk. Nice breakfast. Very easy to get to Ella rock, the hotel is right at the trailhead

Only breakfast available but staff can arrange something to be delivered from nearby restaurant. Bit tricky to get to but no problem for tuks

The stay was really outstanding! Because of the staff, I would give a 12 instead of a 10 if it was possible. The location is perfect at the Kithalella train station and the start of the Ella's rock trail. It's an easy and beautiful walk or train ride to Ella town and you can find a Tuktuk at the station any time to go to Ella or another place around Ella. The most outstanding part is the staff, Rangana and Dilshan. They can always be reached and help with everything. Rooms and restaurant are spotless. And Rangana and Dilshan will always go the extra mile for their guests. Just one example of many for the thoughtfulness, no matter how late we were for breakfast (after the end of breakfast time) because of hiking in the morning, we were treated like royals and given all the patience and support you can imagine. Also the set-menu breakfast they prepared was the best we had during our Sri Lanka trip. When leaving at the end we were offered coffee while we waited for the driver and were given bottles of water for the journey.

Nothing to complain.

Beautiful views over the hills and the train station. Half an hour walk along the train tracks into Ella (or few minutes by tuktuk). Our host was welcoming and attentive (he brought us umbrellas when it started raining), both the common area terrace and the balcony of the room were lovely, and the room was clean.

We found it rather pricey, compared to our 3 other accommodations in Sri Lanka. Small breakfast, no AC, no TV. As a reference: For just a few dollars more per person and night, we stayed in a 4-star deluxe double room with a sea view bathtub, an infinity rooftop pool and a massive breakfast buffet in Colombo. Misleading room information should be / was updated after we hinted it to the host. There was no fireplace in the room, beds were not extra large (>2 meters), etc. No big deal, but information provided should be accurate.
