"How a local pub should be"

Fantastic service very friendly we got there late,the kitchen was closed but they opened up and cooked us fish and chips,lovely room and great breakfast,we will be back.

"Terrible room "

First the good ! Nice friendly staff, we enjoyed our meal in the pub. Nice pub grub but nothing WOW Now the bad Our stay in the smaller room was awful, bed uncomfortably and extremely creaky, shower room tiny and not practical The bathroom and bedroom lacked mirrors we had to put the cheap floor mirror on the bench to be able to do makeup and hair, hubby unable to shave in bathroom because no mirror ! The over all finish in the rooms was extremely poor not even up to a bad DIY job !!! On lampshade on ceiling light, just a bare bulb, light bulbs missing in other fitting Definitely wouldn’t recommend a stay at the walkhampton inn

"Would definitely stay here again"

This is a traditional country pub, the sort that are few and far between nowadays. The owners and staff were friendly, the rooms comfortable and the food great. This pub is clearly a winner with the locals who would pop in for a bowl of home-made icecream or a takeaway from the menu, if they were not stopping for a drink. Parking is limited, but we managed to park there every day without a problem.

Should never have rented rooms out whilst waiting to start renovations. Arrived to car park full of materials and debris around the only entrance and blackboard stating they would be closed for renovations in two days time. Room itself - couldn’t shut bathroom door as too big for doorframe and handles fell off both sides. No light fitting in bedroom just naked bulb. Wires hanging everywhere from tv. Bathroom too small to sit on toilet easily and we are only 5’4”. Full laundry bags on stairs.
