Thrumster House

very quiet and relaxed location, nice spacious room, nice walks from the house, good breakfast, friendly dogs

some decor was a bit tired in the room and couldn't lock bedroom door

Charming and unique - the accommodation had so much character. The grounds are lovely to walk around. We especially liked the breakfast and the hosts were friendly.

Lack of heater in our room (although the electric blanket was great!)

The interior of the house was like a time capsule. There was lots of old and beautiful furniture and beds were very comfortable.

The chance to stay in an 18th century property with a warm welcome.

A quirky place to stay. Very friendly and great food. Made us feel part of the family.

Needs a bit of modernising but that’s also part of its charm.

Catherine was the most congenial of hosts you could ask for and made our stay truly memorable and she went the extra mile in cooking us an excellent 3 course dinner with wine. Breakfast was excellent too.

Thrumster House is past its glorious best and needs a lot of work on it to get it up to modern standards and expectations. Unfortunately it was a cold night during our stay and the electric heater didn’t work, but thankfully the electric blanket did.

This is a stately old house and our room was upstairs with view over the front "garden". We were met by Katherine who made us feel welcome in her home (we also met the 2 dogs who are in the house but as dog lovers ourselves this was not a problem). Our room was large and the beds were very comfortable and the room was filled with books. The shower/bathroom was a short walk down the corridor but was quite large and the shower was good. Breakfast was excellent and set in a formal dining room.
