The hosts were lovely ladies. We sat drinking whisky by the fire with them chatting about the area and estate. The house is full of old furniture and interesting points of interest. The room was clean, and the bed was very comfy. The breakfast was excellent and plentiful. It wouldn't suit everyone, but we loved it and would certainly stay again if we were in the area.

The shower pressure wasn't great.

"Thumster is definitely a “thumbs up” 👍"

Wow, we felt like the Laird and Lady of the manor, what a great old mansion house with a staircase to die for. Our room was large & cosy with great facilities, thank you. We were met by our lovely hosts and made to feel so welcome. Our breakfast in the spectacular dining room was outstanding. What a find indeed. Our dog was so happy and again fitted right in and one of the owners dogs did take a friendly shine to him! All in all what a memorable stay and helped in making our Scottish tour so spectacular. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

No issues at all.

"Charming and welcoming stay in a stunning property."

8.0

What a charming old house in the out of the way wilderness of caithness. Its a stunning property and our host was very welcoming and friendly. The breakfast was amazing and more than enough.

The double bed was a small double and a metal frame bed which moved a lot, when one person moved the other woke up so not the best nights sleep.

It was very quirky, friendly and welcoming. Great breakfast.

It’s a very old house with an amazing history but needs updating to cater for all types of guests. We found it charming but I can imagine that it won’t be to everyone’s taste.

The history of the house and the grounds were so interesting, including the old ruins. The family were incredibly warm and friendly and informative. We loved having the dogs around and having a chat, and playing badminton in the garden. The breakfast was AMAZING - and a great start for our day and big trip ahead. Thank you! ☺️

What a find! A unique experience. Felt honoured to be able to stay in this historic family home. Catherine and her family made us feel so welcome. Great breakfast. Very comfortable bed. Good location for exploring the area. Just loved the two resident dogs. If you love history like us, then this is the place for you.

Loved it all!
