Not a good neighborhood. Homeless people everywhere. Hotel room very small.Bathroom very small. Room service very poor. Breakfast Muffin, yogurt and coffee that’s all. I am not happy.

Small room. Dated but expected. Friendly guy on counter. Close to Cable tram (go early to avoid the queue). Big bus stop close by. Powell BART station very close. Nice place to stop over night.

What the hotel could control was mostly excellent for the price point. The room was well maintained, the reception staff amazing, bed and bedding better than expected, and the bathroom was well maintained. Breakfast was very basic and somewhat ‘meh’ but better than nothing. The street outside is very noisy - some of those living there were playing loud music late at night/early in the morning. Not much the hotel can do about that but it might be off putting to some. Likewise, the homelessness in the area would be concerning to some but we did not feel unsafe - we walked with purpose and were reassured by the police/security presence in the area. It’s a shame the SF authorities have allowed the area to decline as it has and are not actively seeking to compassionately address the homelessness problem in the blocks around the Bijou.

"Good Stay, But Still Waiting on Deposit Refund"

I’m writing to express my growing frustration. My elderly parents and uncles stayed at your hotel the week of June 16, 2025. Their experience at the hotel was excellent — clean rooms, kind staff, and overall good service. However, the security deposit charged at check-in has still not been refunded, despite more than a month and a half passing. I’ve confirmed with my bank there are no issues on their side. I’ve followed up several times and received no resolution. This delay is unacceptable. It’s very disappointing that a great stay is now overshadowed by something that should have been resolved quickly. There’s money involved and trust at stake. Please take action and process the refund immediately. I hope this can be resolved without further delay.

During the week of June 16th, 2025, my elderly parents and uncles stayed at your hotel. I want to begin by acknowledging the quality of their stay — the rooms were clean, the morning snack was a thoughtful touch, and the staff at the front desk were genuinely kind and helpful. Unfortunately, what began as a pleasant experience has since turned into a prolonged and frustrating issue that now casts a shadow over their stay. The problem lies with the security deposit that was charged at check-in. Despite several follow-ups, and confirmation from my local bank that there is no hold or rejection on their end, we have received no clear response or resolution from the hotel. To date, no reimbursement has been made, and communication has gone cold. This delay is not just disappointing — it is unacceptable. We are not speaking about a minor oversight, but about a financial amount that remains unresolved for over six weeks. Given that this concerns senior citizens, I find myself having to step in and raise my voice to advocate for their rights and peace of mind. A simple issue like this should not take this long to resolve. It damages trust. It turns a positive guest experience into a deeply stressful one — and unnecessarily so. I respectfully but firmly request immediate action to investigate and process the refund of the security deposit without further delay.
