SO! Boutique Hostel

We booked a room for 4 people on Expedia which had good reviews and a high rating, but when we arrived it was a 12 bedded dorm which we would not have booked. We emailed the property for clarification but we did not get a response.We feel we were not given what we asked for. On the website it stated that there was a 4 bedded room available but not a 3 bedded room or 2 bedded room. So we felt there were only 4 beds in a room. Could you explain how this has happened? It was noisy and very dirty and a terrible experience. We would like a full refund from you and ask you to review the rating you currently have on the hostel.

Location was great, beds okay

Everything was very filthy, especially the bathrooms, no pressure in the showers either. The beds were okay, but there were hairs on the sheets and it didn’t feel super clean. We were told we can check in early and ended up having to wait for 5 hours at reception to check in- not ideal coming from a long transfer.

The location was convenient (close to train station and main roads), easy to access. Free parking for bikes. Beds were comfortable and lockers were big. Early check out was easy.

The dorms were huge (16p) and the AC was off during the day, so it got really hot. The sound of the traffic was super laud all night. The toilets were really small, not too clean and there was no toilet paper or hand soap. The dorm door was basically never locket which made me feel a bit unsafe. There was sockets next to the beds but they needed the keycard to work - so basically you couldn’t charge your electronics without staying in the dorm/common area. Staff were smoking indoors in the 2nd floor common area. And they didn’t really speak English, so communication was a bit challenging. It was supposed to be 24h and I tried to extend my stay at 9am but didn’t reach any of the staff members. I was told that “someone is here at 1pm” (check out at 11), so I was super confused can I leave my stuff still there.
