Alley X Tainan

Fantastic place to stay; we have nothing but good things to say about our time in Alley x Tainan. The location is perfect, near the heart of everything but tucked away just enough to avoid the noise of city life. The room and amenities were stunning. our one regret is not spending more time relaxing in the lounge area or the patio outside. The host was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Because out train was arriving early to Tainan, he invited to come over as soon as we arrived into the city to drop off our bags, despite the 3 pm check in time. When we arrived, he asked if we wanted breakfast in the morning and when we declined (we had to leave early), he refunded us the amount for breakfast. Additionally, he allowed us to store our luggage there while we were away for the day. Overall, fabulous experience, I would highly recommend to anyone visiting Tainan. (It's also worth noting, when I was originally booking hotels for Tainan, I was repeatedly contacted by the hotels, asking for a bank transfer outside of booking.com. It made me very uncomfortable, and I cancelled those hotels. This was the only place that did not ask for a bank transfer ahead of time.)

The one complaint I had has nothing to do with the hotel itself. But for anyone who doesn't know, there is a military base just outside Tainan and it's not uncommon for them to run practice drills during the day. This can be quite loud and alarming, as fighter jets cross the airspace above the city, but it did not affect our stay otherwise and was never noisy in the early morning or evening.

Very cute and quiet B&B located in a perfect spot. Beautifully decorated, preserving a traditional style and respecting as many original features as possible. Clean, modern bathroom, beautiful common areas and nice breakfast.

I didn't find the futon bed super comfy. It was slightly cold as the windows don't seem to be very well insulated (on the other hand, you can hear the birds singing)

Perfectly located, beautiful B&B. (This was no problem for us but be aware: there is no elevator and two of the available rooms are on the 3rd floor) You can make your own tea and coffee in the little outside kitchenette and every morning there’s the option of a traditional Taiwanese breakfast

Beautiful building and gardens! Location is excellent, tucked in quiet alleys but also near several shops.

Perfect location for getting around Tainan and tucked away in the alleys away from too much noise. The breakfast is a must if you love Taiwanese food, I was looking forward to it every morning. It had a great vibe and I would definitely come here again.

The room is in a renovated old house in an alley. The host was very helpful. He carried our suitcases up and down the stairs. The room we got was spacious and comfortable. We got different local breakfast every day. There is a small communal kitchen and a nice courtyard. Convenient location.

We could hear the cats meowing at times and the military flights .

The place and house are old-school but stylish like Taiwan in the '70s. The staff is friendly.

The room I stay in has only a tiny size of the window.

Amazing breakfast, tatami futon bed, beautiful common area. So quiet in the middle of the city
