The Cottonwood Inn B&B

We so enjoyed our stay at Cottonwood! Holly’s place is truly a little slice of heaven. The location could not be more perfect - it’s about a 15 minute walk to a gorgeous beach and about a 10-15 minute drive to all other wonderful things the Sleeping Bear area has to offer! The staff was so helpful and friendly: from offering genuine recommendations in the area, to making sure you have everything you need — truly a delight interacting with them! Having a hot breakfast downstairs every morning was really nice and we found ourselves grazing a little longer each morning to take in all the wonderful outdoor lounging spots. This place is so quaint and rustic. A perfect place for a couples trip, solo, or with the family. We will definitely be back!

We had originally booked the Empire room which is a bit smaller than we realized (no one’s fault - just sometimes hard to tell in photos) with a much firmer bed than we had hoped (likely better for a solo traveler), but Holly was so accommodating when we asked and let us switch to a different room no problem. That really made our stay go from good to great!

It was our first stay at a B&B and it was a great experience. Our host Holly could not have been anymore warm and welcoming. It felt like we were staying in a home, not an inn. We stayed in the carriage house which worked well for our group by giving us a little more space. Plenty of fresh towels and toiletries, along with fresh fun bedding made our visit comforting. Breakfast each morning was creative and delivered with great conversation and smiles. We would highly recommend staying at The Cottonwood if visiting the area.

great food and conversation with innkeepers

Fantastic place and a beautiful house! We stayed in the small building, next to the house. Great that we had our own rooms and it is a very nice, cosy cottage! Unfortunately, during our stay, the main house was closed. i would have loved to check it out and also have breakfast there. But instead, the host had done her best to prepare some breakfast for us!

The cottage has 1 spacious bedroom, for all guests. I would have liked it better if this had been 2 bedrooms. Maybe a little tip for the hosts!

Location, close to sleeping bear dunes!

The 1st night we had young children in the next room with only a locked door between . Of course kids are loud ! I thought the door was a closet for supplies till night when a Light was on and then crying and running around. Also, I didn’t realize our room was upstairs but that was my fault for not understanding the description .

We felt so welcomed by everyone. Like a second family. The Inn is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The setting is idyllic.

Always wanted to stay in a farm house. Had so much personality! Lots of personality!
