Travelodge by Wyndham Sharon Springs

We like Penny’s Diner. Rooms were showing wear. By mistake got a double bed and couldn’t upgrade. Mattress wasn’t good enough for 2 adults to sleep on. Husband slept on roll away mattress on floor

Overall a good experience.

I had reserved 2 rooms with 5 people this should have worked with 2 Qurans beds. It was roughly 9 pm when we checked in. I was told they only had single beds, and only 2 rooms. The desk clerk “found” additional rooms and said we could have 4. I was trying to be courteous and say 3 would work. He didn’t tell me how small the beds were for grown men. One in our party slept on a chai. They were out of tool away beds also. The toilet in my room was broke. My husband is a plumber, he fixed it to function 3 times in two days. I contacted reservations to complain through travel lodge. They Transferred me to the front desk onsite and the woman was very rude, more upset I went through reservations than I was the slightest bit upset about our situation. Bad all the way around. The night clerk really tried but after him no one else did.

Very few choices in Sharon Springs, so we picked a name brand hotel. We had two rooms since my elderly father was with us. The rooms were FILTHY! The floors had not been swept or vacuumed, there was old coffee and filters in the coffee pots, no kleenex and dead bugs on the floor. They kept us waiting for 15 minutes before someone showed up to check us in and made little apologies for any of it. We had plans to eat in the restaurant for breakfast, but thought better of it after seeing what the rooms were like!

Excellent place to stay crossing rural Kansas. Reasonable rate very clean, very cute dinner next door.
