Travelodge by Wyndham Sharon Springs

There were 6 dead moths laying in various places. One in bathroom, 2 in living room, 2 by door and one by window. You check in at diner that is right before you get to the motel. Bed was super comfy. Had coffee maker, fridge, microwave. Washer and dryer available if not busy. Complimentary soap and toiletries.

Pennys 24 hour cafe is aweaome. All staff ate great!

A little run down dirty and wierd people. Somewhat scary.

I was expecting a little bit more based on the high rating of this hotel. Overall, it was ok for one night, but the tub looked more stained than I would have liked, but it may be due to the nature of the oil and gas industry in the area. It could use some updates for sure, but if you need a place to stay in Sharon Springs for a night, this will do.

Room was ok with several amenities. We would stay here again if ever needed. Check-in was in a restaurant next to the motel. A little inconvenient but not bad.

There are two sets of doors to the hotel and the front doors weren’t working. You entered the building at the back by the dumpster and the lighting was poor. Our room had what looked like dog food in the drawers which made us wonder if it has a mice problem. The chair fabric were ripped and dirty. There was a broken piece of furniture in the hallway. You check in at the diner next door. The food there was good. After talking it over we decided to move 30 miles north to Goodland KS. And didn’t spend the night.

The best thing this location has going for it is lack of competition. I stayed...despite the beetles dead in the bathroom, the dirty carpet(with the previous occupants nail clippings beside the bed), and a dirty washcloth hanging over the shower, because I was too exhausted to try the only other motel in town. Next year I will go to that competitor, or rent an RV.

Comfortable bed. Good food at the 24-hour diner.
