Mount Nelson, A Belmond Hotel, Cape Town

It was a 10/10 experience. The setting is absolutely beautiful, with elegant gardens and a classic atmosphere that feels both luxurious and relaxed. The tea selection was exceptional, with a wide variety of blends and very knowledgeable staff to guide the experience. The food presentation was stunning - from the freshly baked scones to the delicate pastries and savoury bites, everything looked and tasted wonderful. A special thank you to our waitress, Ntombi, who made the experience even more memorable with her warm, attentive, and genuinely friendly service. She made us feel incredibly welcome and took great care of every detail throughout the afternoon.

Mount Nelson is one of those rare hotels where the people are just as memorable as the property itself. From the doormen greeting us each day to the many friendly conversations we had with staff around the hotel, everyone made us feel genuinely welcome. The food and beverage offering was excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast was a daily highlight, while both The Red Room and the Chef's Table were fantastic experiences. Special thanks to Chef Isaac and Lazarus for their warm hospitality and helping make those meals so memorable. Combined with the beautiful décor, rich history and stunning gardens, Mount Nelson is a truly special hotel and one we would happily return to.

Excellent afternoon tea at the Mount Nelson. Nomkitha provided such great service - friendly and chatty and always helpful. Food was great - far more food than we expected with a savoury 3 tier stand to start, scones and loaf cake followed and then the cake stand with 6 cakes each. Then there is a buffet cake table where you can also help yourself. Beautiful setting and overall a great experience.

The most wonderful afternoon tea experience with Thuli. Felt so well taken care of and special! The food, tea, and wine was absolutely phenomenal. Will certainly be coming back as soon as possible! A must-do during your stay in Cape Town. Love it!
