"Terrible customer service, unclean rooms, stale food, defective door locks and electrical"

2.0

If you enjoy dirty rooms, peeling paint, terrible customer service, stale breakfast & faulty electrical outlets then this is the place for you. I booked a room third-party (Priceline) for a reasonable rate. We decided to book a 2nd room for the night because of the price. I called the hotel and asked if they had adjoining rooms, to which they responded no (not a big deal), but since I had them on the phone, I asked if I could book a room at the same rate, and I was told yes, so I booked a second room. When we got there, they didn't say anything about the different rates and gave me two sheets to sign. When I looked at them, the online one was $48 (pretax) and the 2nd one was $75 (pretax). I immediately questioned them and they told me that it was the nightly rate. I told them just cancel this one and I'll book another one online (still showing exact rate). They (employee and manager) said there was nothing they could do about canceling the charge. I asked them to adjust the rate and they told me there was nothing they could do. So, we're screwed. Whatever, we'll make the best of it I guess... I looked over and the hot tub was out of service, so that sucks, but at least the pool was open for my boys. We were told at this time the pool was open. We go to our room, and the lack of cleanliness is very apparent immediately. The carpets along the walls have a gray layer of dust all the way around. The ceiling is peeling and the bathroom vent is over 50% covered with cobwebs, even the rack in the refrigerator is rusty. The lamp (which has a damaged shade) next to the bed wasn't plugged in, so I went to plug it in. The only way to get it to work was wedge the wire up because the outlet was bad. The curtains over the window were not even completely hooked on the track. Our bed at least appeared clean, so I guess there's that... The heat and the air-conditioner worked, but the thermostat clearly didn't. In the morning, we went to the breakfast provided. The muffins in the case were inedible due to being rock-hard. The entire bread case had an acrid smell. The eggs and sausage were edible I guess. My younger son (13) said the door key wasn't working for their room. I went and tried their swipe key, it wasn't working. I found the only employee on premise (cleaning rooms) and told him about the problem. He tried the room key, it didn't work for him either. Then, he tried his master key, that didn't work either, so he had to get the manual key and open the door. To be clear, the lock would light up, just wouldn't actually open. After breakfast (after 8am), we told our boys they could go swimming before checkout. The sign outside the door said "Pool hours 8am - 10pm." Being inside of that window, we figured the boys could use the pool. They came back and said they were told by the same employee from last night (female), that the pool was closed. I went down there to talk to her and asked her about the pool. She told me the pool was only open 5pm - 10pm. I said why does the sign say 8am -10pm and the direct quote I received was "Because the hours changed sir." I went back to my room and messaged Quality Inn parent company Choice Hotels (who I will be reporting this to) and our room phone rang. The same lady called and said she talked to the owner and the boys could use the pool. They weren't in there very long because the said it was unsanitary (dead bugs, etc). We showered, checked out, and left. Before leaving, I got a copy of both receipts and confirmed I was charged two different rates. The funny kicker, I was even charged a $1.75 service fee for the safe in my room. It was labeled "Safe w/Ltd warranty." What a joke... As we were leaving, there was a bottle, which appeared to be filled with urine at the edge of the grass. There was garbage all over outside of the property and screens which had fallen off the windows. Some of the other screens were held on by duct tape or the frames were just bent enough to wedge them into a window. What a terrible night. 0/10.

"Poor Communication Undermined Location + Airport Shuttle"

2.0

As a 2025 bride, I was searching for a hotel near Central Wisconsin Airport (CWA – Mosinee, WI) that offered an airport shuttle and could accommodate a wedding block for my guests. Unfortunately, my experience with the Quality Inn Central Wisconsin Airport was incredibly disappointing and unprofessional, leading me to take my business elsewhere. When I first called the hotel, I was told that a wedding block could be set up, and I received a confirmation code. I passed this information along to my guests, only to hear that the block was not working for them. Upon calling the hotel again, I was told my reservation had been canceled—and that, in fact, the hotel does not offer wedding blocks at all. I asked to speak with a manager, and the front desk assured me I would receive a call back. Despite three additional follow-up calls on my end, I never heard back from the manager. The lack of communication, professionalism, and basic courtesy caused unnecessary stress during what should be an exciting time. Consequently, I brought my business to the Holiday Inn & Suites – Wausau-Rothschild, which does offer an airport shuttle. My wedding block was set up smoothly within 24 hours. I cannot recommend the Quality Inn near CWA to other brides—or anyone expecting reliable service. The Quality Inn's location and prices are appealing, yet the poor service completely undermines any value the hotel might offer.

"Clean beds, rooms/service need improvement"

4.0

If you are just looking for a place to sleep, sure, its fine. However, i wouldn't go back for any other reason. They didn't have the room I booked, and was switched to room with much smaller beds. The heater rattled all night, the light switch cover on the bathroom was broken. The hotel seemed to be under renovation. We could hear the baby crying a few doors down. Positives, the beds were clean.
