The people went out of their way. My dog was with me and I asked for a 1st floor room. There were none Available at first, but they offered a handicap room.

I would not stay in this hotel again. Stayed here 3 nights to attend family reunion. The room was okay, but the shower curtain and tub were stained. Toaster oven wasn’t working at breakfast and when we finally raised the proprietor to address it, he was in a foul mood. Asked for pepper and he grumbled they don’t carry it. Halls and entry ways were dirty. Proprietor is clearly an unhappy person.

The desk person was nice, but this was a nasty hotel. The white towels were yellow. Even our non-smoking room smelled like cigarettes. One of the beds in our room smelled like pee. The motion sensor light for the bathroom would not turn off. The batter for the waffles was soured. The whole hotel needs to be updated and mostly cleaned. I do not consider myself to be a clean freak, but this place was pretty bad.

We selected this property because it was listed as “Pet Friendly.” When I went to pre check in, it explicitly stated that it was in fact NOT pet friendly. This significantly impacted our weekend plans. The pool was extremely dirty. Our room was not clean. The ice machine was not working and they did not have enough towels for our family. The towels we did have were stained.

Filthy, Rude, and Unsafe – Never Again We booked this hotel expecting a clean, no-smoking stay, but what we got was disgusting. The first room reeked of cigarettes, despite being non-smoking. The sheers on the windows were shredded, the room was filthy, and the air was musty. The front desk clerk moved us to another room, but it was just as nasty—again reeking of smoke once we turned on the A/C. The bed had EIGHT layers of mattress covers, clearly trying to hide huge brown and yellow stains. It was disturbing and unhygienic. To make things worse, the swimming pool was green and clearly hadn’t been cleaned in ages. When I returned to the front desk to express my concerns, the man told me not to complain where others could hear, and instructed me to go around to the back. Then he eavesdropped on my call with Hotels.com and butted in. Instead of helping us, he told us to leave the hotel! We were left with nowhere to stay for two nights but our car, and we had traveled all the way from Arizona. This was absolutely unacceptable and traumatic. The hotel was unsanitary, the staff unprofessional, and the treatment we received was outrageous. We deserve a full refund. Avoid Baymont in Harvard, IL at all costs!

I've stayed plenty times and never once had a problem. Quiet, clean, family oriented, pool is always clean. The staff is like my family.
