Good location for walking to the Santa Ana volcano

There’re no water, so cold at night and we had just one light blanket

Be careful with glass windows, we accidentally broke one of “covers”.

Beautiful location and easy access to volcano tour. Friendly staff though little English spoken. Free local breakfast of eggs, fried plantains, refried beans, rice and tortillas.

No hot water. Window didn't shut. Simple room but adequate.

The attention of the staff

The booking was for 4 people but they treated us as we only booked for. 2, 2 set of sheets, 2 towels and 2 breakfast without further explanation

Location for doing the Santa Ana hike was perfect. It was very convenient that there was a restaurant on site to have breakfast at before the hike. I read reviews stating there was only cold water in the showers. I'm not sure if it's just because I lucked out and was the only one staying in the 3-bed dorm, but I followed the staff member's instruction to turn on the tap very slowly and I did get warm (not hot but warm) water for the two showers I had.

Others mentioned the blankets could be thicker because it gets cold. This was accurate. Since I was the only person in the 3-bed dorm I was able to take another bed's blanket to use in addition to my own but if I hadn't been able to I would've been chilly. The room also would've been a bit cramped with three people.

We had a private rooms- the double bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Towels and soap etc were included ( stated in booking they were not). Perfect location. Staff very helpful and looked after luggage after checkout and helped organise a guide.

The water was lukewarm only. There is no internet but this is known at booking, the 4G is variable to it can just make things difficult if trying to make arrangements. *** The restaurant was closed during our stay which meant we had to eat dinner at an outside stall at 4pm after a long day of hiking, we couldn’t get drinks or anything in the evening. By chance we asked otherwise we would have missed the stalls and gone hungry as all were closed by 5pm. I feel the hotel should inform guests if restaurant will not be open so they can make arrangements.***
