Wigan Oak Hotel

I needed a room for a Wigan football match so wanted a cheap room and easy location Room in fair condition , the bed bathroom and shower and tea/coffee were fine.

Decor old (carpet and walls) but adequate for what was needed Hotel seemed to have some long staying guests.

Hotel and staff were friendly and very helpful.

Since arriving home, we have received a parking fine, for the time we stayed in the hotel even though we entered the car registration number in the tablet on the desk. When you stay at a hotel you don't expect a parking fine three weeks later . Shocking we was planning on staying again lately in the yesrl but changed our minds now, in case it happens again.

Corridor & lifts dirty grime marks. Holes in the walls carpet's threadbare & stained. No TV remote working in room & no Towels in room. Couldn't of been worse:(

I booked the hotel for my daughter and her partner and their 2 dogs. Upon arrival, Chris, who helped us check in was friendly and helpful.

My daughter didn't have any complaints about the hotel, butnshe did say she took a walk along the river bank behind the hotel and there was broken glass on the path. This is not the hotels fault, but may reflect the area.

The staff were welcoming and helpful

This hotel needs knocking down and rebuilding. Smells awful, damp and musty. We checked out a day early and booked somewhere else. Very dated. The lifts still have ash trays built in from years ago (that haven’t been cleaned). Outside our room was a sofa - the seat cushions missing. Dirty, drab and dismal

Everything, location was perfect, staff were very helpful
