The Island Resort at Fort Walton Beach

The grounds are beautiful with a great set up and in the perfect location. The rooms are exactly as pictured as well. The staff we interacted with were also kind.

There is no security. My shoes were stolen at the pool in the middle of the day. Those around us believe it was a group of teenage girls that may have been locals. Young kids (ages ~7-14) were running around the resort unaccompanied hitting doors in the middle of the night, drinking and throwing up at the pool, taking food and smashing it around the grounds, hitting the doors and people with balls as a “game”. I am a mom with a 3 year old and baby, and this was not a situation of kids just being kids. On top of this, the staff was very limited due to a buyout and management transition during my stay which also caused issues when trying to get help.

Location, close to the beach. Great large territory, a lot of swimming pools. Really great hotel, we enjoyed our stay.

-The lack of cleanliness to our rooms and hallways, the staff not approachable and lot of times unavailable. -Lack of security to our building and privacy in our rooms. We can hear everything next door with big gaps underneath the door. - The outlets were unsafe with holes around it and holes under the bathroom sink where the pipe comes through. - The AC vent was dripping where the toilet was.

Location was amazing as well as the grounds, staff was good. Only complaints 1 our door locked us out & it took 2 maintains men to fix, ending in a whole new door lock 2-the room above us was being remodeled with No heads up beating & banging during the day, glad we didnt have a toodler -3 we were under the impression that breakfast was included, it was for 2, we had a 7 year old that we had to pay for. Our stay was Good would recommend 👌

Asked for beach side when I booked our room was on 2nd floor at the beginning of the stairwell and ice machine. No balcony when u are in the room and open blinds what do you see? A stairwell that has heavy traffic and ice machine etc. Was not a happy camper

We like this resort but we will not stay here again.

Well this it the second time we've stayed here and I will say it is not as "family friendly" as it use to be three years ago. The check in took way longer than it should have and our room wasn't ready at check in. The resort was flooded with college kids cursing without a care in the world of young ears next to them unfortunately.

It was way too loud and crowded…. If I had known how huge and crowded and loud I would’ve chosen a different hotel. Lots of kids and loud music. Huge loud concert was going on our first night we were exhausted and couldn’t sleep. Had to sit and listen to 3 hours of booming music we didn’t want to hear.
